Yeah, Quinn got caught watching the puck for sure, but Miller also had Suzuki on the backcheck and completely let him go, right to the low slot. Peewee level defensive awareness all around, and it's f*ing embarrassing.

100%. No one on the Canucks gets a pass on that play.

Get rid of the giveaways in sensitive spots and get the PP clicking. Do a better job of punishing the opposition's errors; MTL actually had more giveaways yesterday (19-11) but Van didn't do enough to make them pay.  There are actually some good things going on with this team that are being overshadowed at times by critical errors in spots. I'm sure people are blaming Beagle, Virtanen, etc., but this is more about the best players being better/ more consistent in my opinion.

Is fatigue part of it? Yes...however, I think if we had been playing in OTT last night, the effort would have been much higher.

I think some of this is mental - MTL is inside their head a bit...

While it is easy (and rightfully so) to point out the transgressions of the first line last night, line 2 wasn't the most inspirational.... There were a number of John Cena lookalikes (U Can't See Me). Need a collective effort tonight - it is going to take more than person to light the spark.

12 games 20 days, plus travel. A short off season.

Not recognizing this,  as a factor, is being very short sighted.

travel come on people...fly to Calgary for what 3 games, then hop on the long flight all the way to Edmonton for some games then they cross continental flight to Vancouver for 3 games. 1 pit stop game in Winnipeg before a set of games in Montreal, that ain't so bad in comparison to them flying to California for a game then back home for 2 then back on the road for say 6...How quickly people forget what the Canucks normal travel schedule is like eh!?

This travel excuse is lame! Come to play every game...remember that these players aren't you or I sitting on our coach drinking alcohol stuffing our faces with fattening foods, these are PRO athletes who train EVERYDAY and can play 12 games in 20 nights...Maybe the coaches need to utilize all these Taxi Squad players and put some of them into a game on the back to back nights, yet we seem to usually run the same group out. That would give players a rest no!? NBA has Elite players who sit out regularly now...when they do sometimes the team wins without them sometimes they lose. We could sit out 1 higher end player here and there and still ice a good team.

Canucks are fine, they just need to play hard every game and when they don't they look like they do vs Montreal this year.

Shut up with the excuses for these millionaire athletes, they CAN be prepared they just DON'T show up every night and put in the EFFORT needed. When it is that easy to tell on the TV it is up to the COACHES to then kick their ARSES in gear during the game...................

Canucks, go and beat the French!!

in my opinion, you are WRONG. It is up to the LEADERS to help motivate the TEAM if they see someone STRUGGLING. These are ADULTS not 4 year olds

We haven’t had 2 days off in a row since the start, whereas we have played teams that have had rested, we don’t get a 5-6 day rest period unlike the habs, leafs, flames and oilers (not checked the jets) we have also done the most travelling again so far in the north.

most of our off days have been spent travelling and we don’t get more than 1 day off in a row till mid February. The schedule isn’t the reason why we are playing this badly but it’s a significant contributing factor and to discount it is disingenuous. We don’t get ‘our time’ when it balances out later as we only get a few multi day breaks. Yes others get a condensed ending but they get a proper rest and training period we never get

Every team in the league gets the 5-6 day break. Its mandated in the CBA for this season

we really need to get over the nhl schedule conspiracy theory

Our “break periods” will come, just a later in the schedule

there have been several rankings of the schedule and if you recall they mentioned on Sportsnet that the Canucks have the most favourable schedule overall

No sloppy turnovers don’t even know what the &^@# they were doing last game. Top line needs to step it the &^@# up or we have no chance , we live and die with our top guns.

Can’t rely on Sutter or Motte to carry the team

It have nothing to do with travel it have everything to do with lack of practice day. Say they don't practice on their travel days they really only had 3 or 4 days of practice compared to any other team in the league with like 7-10 non travel days so far for practices

Agree that there are some good things going on that are overshadowed... but no, no one is blaming Beagle and hopefully no one is blaming Virtanen.

The whole team sucked but the 4th line of Beagle, Motte, Virtanen did well. They actually showed us the right way to play, to beat the Habs. Play the body, forecheck and cause turnovers, make simple plays. I'd rather see the team dump and chase and make them come 200 ft rather than losing the puck at the blue line. Play a safe physical and grinding out old school hockey and we will win.

This is the game where Burr, Kes, Hansen, and Higgins type players can win you games. I'd shuffle the lines: Miller, Bo, and Boeser as a line and EP with Hog and Pearson.

649 line tried to get too fancy and rushed so many plays, especially JT.
