As a talent scout, Benning is excellent. His record speaks for itself in that regard. He’s blown way too many FA signings and trades, and those have all caught up with the team now.

You can take the worst team in the league and teach them a defensive system and they can be competitive, absolutely terrible teams have gone the Stanley Cup playing the neutral zone trap. I don’t know what is going on here, there’s no way this team is this bad. There’s no reason why this team can’t play like the did against the Jets a week ago. I’m just glad I don’t have to buy a ticket to go watch this train wreck.

Well as fans we can look at the Avalanche and how their top five worst seasons ever in 16-17 ended and turned it around right after that. They got rid of disgruntled players and stuck together and are cup contenders for the foreseeable future.

Despite all the current grief we as fans are dealing with; it was time to give Demko & other prospects there chance and replenish our prospect cup board - the prices Calgary are too much.

that's not really fair. Other than Eriksson, which ends soon, he can't be responsible for concussions or recapture. Also I still like beagle and Sutter's pay was for sticking out a rebuild and ends soon. Just wish the rebuild would have started earlier but where did that get Edmonton or Toronto. When did they last contend? Our window is still a few years away and I'm hoping Benning will have a couple more years to finish his work.

But I was told those types of vets are impossible to sign?  I was told you had to pay 3M for veterans and that was fair market value.
