eveerybody, except Rafferty gets high praise the first few games

Exactly.  Most players play well theid first few games then fall back down to earth.  If you cant see how bad Chatfield has been you arent paying attention.  His intensity isnt nhl calibre.

I really dont think we have the horses for that type of race.

We need cpl bad mofos. I dont care about theor politics. Or their off ice behaviour. . I want cpl mean dudes who go to war. More than a cpl

It seems like the league wants to get rid of those types of warriors.

Weber, Lucic, Chara, and Wilson are four of the most imposing players in the NHL still. Players tend to give those guys a wide berth. Gudbranson is similar m, but lacks Weber and Chara’s defensive competency.

I know they are late in their contracts but beagle and sutter have been painful to watch

the game moves twice as fast as they move

and yet they do not get scored on at twice the rate that they score

and one of them hits

remember when we all thought Bo https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=145053  was the next Jonny Toews https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=93829

turns out he is the next RNH https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=117125

Reaves is making 1.7 mill in Vegas. If JB going to over pay for players offer a guy like him 3 mill..

Everyone stays in check on opposition

Good point. Forgot about him.

JB paid Roussel way too much for the half assed pugilistic talent he brings.

5 years ago, I would have been really dissapointed by that. But RNH has actuallly turned into a good two-way C. 60+ points and kills penalties, not bad. Oh, and Bo has 6 times more playoff goals than RNH.

Those type of warriors are why most love hockey.  Personally i cant stand how this league is turning into disney on ice.

On a side note... remember when Nash traded Weber for Subban and how most fans felt Nash won the deal simply because Subban was a little younger and skated a little better?  Montreal won the deal and Shea is still a beast.  Everyone underestimates intangibles like leadership, toughness and intensity.

Loved that trade for mtl. Weber has been one of my favourite players in nhl since he came into league. Beast

Btw jb wanted Suban and chased him hard at the draft.

Toffoli also has these intangibles. Its not by accident mtl is on top of NHL. Lots of character and leadership in that locker room.

It looks to be somewhat true.

Did he not drop the gloves with someone last year or maybe the year before? Anyway when a reporter asked him - his response was you didn't want to come late for that one. But it certainly isn't something you see from him  as a rule - but he did turn on Tofu  when he crashed the net in Montreal.  I think if the team saw more of that from him they would all play a little tougher. IMO
