OJs a good skater.

One of Greens biggest mistakes this year has been dressing Chatfield who keeps getting burned multiple times a game.  Makes no sense why OJ isnt in

I'm also wondering about Chatfield. Not that he was that bad but OJ didn't look worse than him at all..

Might be to get Chatfield to meet the requirements for being exposed in the entry draft? (18 more games)

Yup, where they added Rantanen in the draft.

Winnipeg too. They made, then missed, the playoffs and added Laine.

Anybody feel bad for them? Did their teams panic and fire everyone in coaching/management and/or trade everyone?

It's really quite common for teams coming out of a rebuild. A good year with a taste of playoffs and then a year (or more) of regression, more high picks and then back at it.

But if you look at CDC (or Twitter etc) all the 'experts' have the answers in blaming and firing Benning, or Green, trading away the scape goat player du jour... I've even seen more than one suggestion of trading Hughes. How more than one poster has come up with that depth of idiocy is baffling.

Its because we have been at it much longer.

Benning has been at the helm for 7 years,  SEVEN. And there is so much dead money, colorado and Winnipeg arent cap teams or at least werent at those times you mentioned.

Fire them all. We are so close,  just need some fresh minds and eyes in management and coaching staff.

keep him out of a toxic environment? if the kid's getting burned constantly as a result of how piss poor the team d is right now, it would crush his confidence.

Maybe if he is exposed in the expansion draft, seattle will pass because they have no idea how he plays lol

Both OJ and Chatfield are exposable...QHs doesn't have to be.   Have to expose one player who meets the league NHL game requirement, and still under contract for at least one more year - at this point only Schmidt and Myers qualify.   Get to protect any three we want except for that one minor detail.   Not sure why JB hasn't created a scenario where he doesn't have to expose one of Myers or Schmidt, but will say those two have taken the hardest minutes so far this season, and are part of a small group of guys 0 or better (plus/minus).   Losing either of those guys without a plan to replace them is a head scratcher.   6 million is the new 4 million compared to peak Sedin era.   Fair deals both of them, wasn't too long ago that we had Hutton, Deb Zotto as minus magnets, Edler too.  Blue chip top four D's don't grow on trees, hate to have Chatfield playing that role next year ... as in Myers is gone.   Teams too soft as it is.

New owner will be moving to team to Surrey Central.    Super exciting .

@kingofsurrey Do you have a source for this?  Don't post rumours please...we have enough "talk" happening right now.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. We HAVE to expose 1 defensemen who is under contract in 2021/22 and has met the requirements (of playing a certain amount of NHL games over the past 2 years). As of now only Myers and Schmidt meet the requirements, meaning we would need to expose one of the two. Thats why it looks to me to get Chatfield 18 more games this season so that he meets the requirement too and can be the one defensemen who is exposed. Therefore allowing us to protect Myers, Schmidt and presumably OJ
