This may be a naive question but what high costs of running sports radio in particular? How is radio expensive, this can't be real. Once you have the hardware up you just need 2 guys to show up and a producer to push the buttons. Its literally 3 guys and  bunch of computers with a microphone. Cheapest source of entertainment is radio, how is that expensive to operate?

I think they may pay some contributors that aren't exclusively TSN?

How does this happen, taking Cdns money without assurance that it will be used for the right reasons. This the second time this has happened when Cdn airlines took government money and immediately paid out huge bonuses to Executives. That's not counting the apprent contract not worth the paper they're written for the supply of vaccines. Gross Gross incompetence

I’m pretty sure 650 criticizes the team quite a bit too.

Sportsnet is a Toronto station that loves to stir the pot every time this team does poorly.

Leafs propaganda yes, Canucks no.

650 is not based out of Ontario. It's based out of Vancouver with Vancouver/Canucks personalities.

It's not any different than what 1040 was except that 650's bosses own the form of entertainment said personalities are supposed to be discussing without bias.

650 is owned by Sportsnet. Sportsnet is based out of Toronto. All business decisions are made by Sportsnet.

They do not hire “Canucks personalities”. They hire radio personalities, who are often from the Toronto market. Their goal is to entertain not pump the tires of the Canucks organization. This entertainment usually involves stirring up the fan base when the team does bad.

There is absolutely nothing involving propaganda on 650.

I feel bad for those affected.

Having said that there isn't really a need for daily updates about sports news. There just isn't enough going on. So they end up looking for things to talk about. And the easiest way to do that is with controversy and negativity.

Some of these people should start a podcast. There's no need for all the expense of doing sports news on a radio anyway.

More blatant than I thought, but there it is.

Agree or disagree with the quality of the sports guys on TSN sports radio but the fact the Trudeau gave Bell over $130,000,000 supposedly to save jobs (CERB stuff) and they gave it to their shareholders is sickening.  Won't support Bell via any of their divisions.
