Thing is the owner isn't knowledgeable enough about the product to make that type of a decision. Owners are typically businessmen within a specific area like real-estate, tech etc.. President of hockey and  CEO will make the decisions on the behalf of ownership so its not the owners pulling strings its the CEO.

I agree that Benning needs to be fired for doing a terrible job in constructing the team. choosing the wrong plqyers to give big contracts and letting our great players go. You cant win a cup with this type of management.
