A long long time ago I can still remember how the post games used to make me smile

 

And I knew if I sent a text, that J Pat might have read it next

 

And I might just earn myself some Twitter clout

 

But sudden rumours made me shiver

 

And soon the truth it was delivered

 

Bad news on the airwaves..... Twitter was starting to rage

 

I can't remember if I cried when I saw it trending far and wide

They pulled the plug while they were live

The day 1040 died

 

So bye-bye to the 1040 guys

They took them away I'm still completely in shock

Now we tuned in 20 years ago To a.m. 1040's debut show Who would have known where it would go?

And did you tune in to Gillis chat? Where he called Moj bald and fat? Can you get your 'morning wood' too that?

 

Well I know the station hit a low

when they came out with the bro Jake show

They knew he had to gooo So they gave us Halford and Brough-oooooo

 

I was a lonely sports fan in quarantine and 1040 was my every day routine But it was killed by corporate greed The day 1040 died

 

We were singing bye-bye to the 1040 guys

Moj & Donnie, Mike & Jason and Sekeres & Price

They took them away I'm still completely in shock

So we log back on the app

With burners and bros vs bitters crap

Learning what had just hap-pened

 

So come on now increase your dividends And lay off masses in a pan-demic As long as we can raise proffiittsss

 

And as Drance and JPat did confirm I started to feel my stomach churn Bell execs didn't give a damn The employees had all been canneddddd

 

Oooo the rage was mounting left and right The twitter cliques had started to unite Because we all knew that this just wasn't right The day 1040 died

I scanned through my radio To find another Sports Talk Show But all it did was hurt me more

But just as things were looking bleak I found it show they called Reach Deep With hosts named Daniel and Randiiiip

 

The others though we're still annoyed Cuz podcasts couldn't fill the void Not one fan was jokin Our hearts had all been broken

 

And our favourite guy Rick Dhaliwal The one we will miss most of all We raise a glass to him and all The great 1040 guys.
