Their forward lines are stacked D was pretty good. He benefited from playing with solid 2 way players... 

We have forwards who are willing to be defensively responsible.  I'd much prefer we play a tighter defensive system and have the forwards help out more.

You have to be realistic if they lose this game, the chances of making the playoffs are pretty slim. They needed to take 3 of 4 games to at least climb closer. I think this next period will show what kind of team we have. Can we fight to get back into the playoff race? We shall see.

Unfortunately the gaffes have stood out. Horvat and Schmidt were instrumental in two Calgary goals, no doubt.

 

But here's the thing, are we gonna jump on Horvat and say he's $&!# because of the gaffe? I doubt most of you will. So why are people so quick to do it for Schmidt? Because he's a D? Come on. 

 

They're both quality players who'd likely thrive under coaching that isn't garbage. For real though, we're up 2-1 and yet our D are playing super aggressively? We're not trailing, plenty of time left and yet that's how they've played.
