This is so frustrating being a fan of this team sometimes.

It’s so simple it’s mind boggling. He’s waiting for the off-season to make decisions. It’s covid season man. Thats why there was no buyouts last off-season etc. It’s money and looking ahead at what we can do with the cap going forward. Enjoy what you can cause nothing changing until them. Got loads of young players to watch this season. Heck there could of easily been not a season and we could all be losing our minds in a different way

Think the game was coached reasonably well apart from Zac getting 6 minutes (although when down a goal I'm not surprised the top guys hogged the ice) but then that blunder in OT cost us. That is a rookie coach mistake. Green's reasoning would be that he wants our best players to be best players and wants our top guys to play against top players, but sometimes you have to realise that we don't have a Crosby/Kopitar-type 1st line center who can play two way hockey in Petey physically. We don't have a two way winger in Boeser. Heck, we certainly don't have a good two way defenceman in Hughes. Put all 3 out against a trio of good physical two way players and that's what you get. Reminiscent of Sedins vs Krejci and Marchand.

 

Green could have just about put any other trio on the ice and we might have still been playing. Most importantly he's got to understand what he's got and realise that it's alright to be tactical and play a matchup game, especially at home. Petey doesn't have to beat guys at everything. He did his job on the PP, now get Bo out there to do his job and check their top line.

 

Green's not learning and his mistakes have cost us the playoffs this year. We'll see what JB decides in the off-season but if he keeps this up we have to make a change.

Albeit considering how we played tonight, it was a gutless performance. We were lucky to even get a point, but nevertheless, another game squandered when we had the lead.

We played a good first. 2nd was a little shaky and the wheels fell off in the 3rd.  I was very happy to see Petterson tie it up and at least force OT. The boys have got to be better if they want to turn this season around.

the matchup was the problem, and Hotlby needs to make the bloody save.

This goal is fully on Holtby, Brock was effectively denying Dubois the middle, which meant that the shot was going to the short side. Why was Holtby not hugging the post?

Was so nice seeing Petey tie it on that patent one timer. Very happy for him especially after another freaking post. 9 now - Wow!
