Gurn
Bit of a drop in competition. How the super coaches can fall.
Losing With Pride
Well he is still getting paid by the Leafs. Maybe this is a good opportunity for him to show that he's changed. (or he couldn't get another NHL coaching job)
Warhippy
Good for him, still getting a paycheque out of TO and gets less actual scrutiny. he can coach without issue. Must be a nice step down for him 1

Popular Post smokes
I guess I am in the minority, but I honestly don't think he did anything wrong. He just coached in his own way but at the end of the day, he got results. I have seen a lot worse in the corporate world. I am glad he is getting another chance in caching and I hope he gets another in the NHL one day. When you take the number of all the players he has coached in his career to the amount of players who complained about him, cancelling him doesn't add up. He just got caught up during a time where canceling coaches was a trend. Thank god Marc Crawford and some others did not suffer the same fate. Good luck to Babs. 1 4

I bet we'll see some Huskie alumni NHL players as a result. 1 2

As much as I'm not a fan of Babcock, this is a dumb sentiment. How can someone improve, move on, and learn from their mistakes if we ban them from working? He didn't kill or grossly assault someone, so no reason he should never work again. 2 3

I never said he should be banned, much less not work in society. With that said, a university coaching job is still a high profile job and the man getting that job has barely scratched the surface with regards to showing any remorse, much less "learning", from the time of his original termination. I’m with @smokes - don’t think he deserved to be fired in the first place. What did he do? Made some entitled teenagers feel uneasy? Good! That will show those little s***s!

YEGCanuck
I get that some people may not like Babcock, but I for one can support anyone who attempts to rehab his career. Let's face it, hockey is his life. If we were in the same position as him I am certain each of us would want to get back in the game.

What did Babcock do, specifically that makes you believe he should never get another job? No one liners please. Evidently you know a lot about what happened in Toronto. What was it that warrants your completely self-righteous indignation?
