He's more creative, more of a playmaker, might help create for Virtanen.

he's mindful enough without the puck -  quick enough - and hounds the puck well enough...

 

I'm game to move Pearson.  I like him, but I suspect he's the next veteran they 'let go'.

 

Podkolzin might also fit well there.   That line could be a great prototypical '3rd' line' that plays bigger minutes (particularly once EP/the top line develops further).

So little hockey in the past year.  He needs to get a good string of games to get him going.

Jake plays better when he never stops moving. As soon as he stops in his own zone to cover his man he gets lost.

Play him as a forth line center for a while.
