Burke made a statement the other day that I think is accurate in todays cap NHL.

He said " you need to get real bad real quick and then real good real fast".

Other wise you can miss your window.

You get bad and draft some high end talent and if they turn out and develop you need to fill around them . To do that quickly you must have the cap space to sign ufa's to fill the holes.

We have the young talent but no cap space this year or next. At that point Miller and Bo will have one year to go. This shows how short your window is.

This is what a discussion is. We can be critical about a situation, but to overlook certain things to push a narrative is just being dishonest. Benning has made plenty of mistakes that can be judged for itself. So if we're looking at that, we can.

For example: keeping two rookie coaches like WD/TG. They are mediocre coaches when you think about their records. WD had an inferior roster and has a better win percentage than TG. That's just sad.

It's a worthwhile point..but hey, we weren't winning anything over this 6, 7 yr span. I don't care if the Ghost of Sam Pollock were in charge.

We needed to restock the market shelves while the night fell.

So maybe these mediocre coaches helped the stealth-reload/jig/build/etc..?

Just bring in a decent coach for 21-22.

a lot better.

Just because our coaches don't play them doesn't mean they're bad. Gadj and Lind - funny you don't mention them - are ripping it up in the AHL right now.

Podkolzin is playing in the KHL playoffs - just scored a goal yesterday.

Arvid Costmar had a really good showing last tournament.

Woo is in the AHL right now -- also doing really well.

We NEVER had any prospects that we could speak of that could ostensibly step into the NHL in the foreseeable future.

we did, but Kesler Burrows and Bieksa was a long time ago

what about Baertschi, Goldy and Boucher?

you mean #s 34 +37  on the point parade

YOu missed Grao in Winnipeg

you notice the Lind and Gadj do not get assists

we might well replace Sutter with more Sutters

furthers my point about lopsided

are the Canucks leading the league in players with more goals than assists

they do give 2 assists per goal (sometimes)

None of them can defend at a high level on the blueline which is this team's biggest problem.  But I guess that is Gillis' fault as well.

I think Woo can, he is probably coming for Chatter's roster spot

He's more of an all around defenseman I think.  Hopefully he gets the proper development vs sitting on the bench like OJ is for the Canucks.

Exactly.  Poor coaching choices and/or a revolving door has a direct impact of player development.

you are not playing the game right,

we like to compare our team/management to the worst

I should make it clear that I don't want Benning fired.  Only that there are real problems that need to be addressed.

First, a REAL President should be hired.  Benning has enough on his plate to handle.  I don't trust Weisbrod to make even a cup of coffee.
