Wouldn’t that be awkward. 1040 gets taken off the air, 650 morning crew pays tribute to their fellow sports journalists, 1040 talent replaces 650 talent. Ouch, that would have to sting!

PJ hinted that they may use a fm radio station that is not in use

Players who take the fight to the other team..  2011 Nucks were a roster full of those guys.  This team maybe has just 1 or 2 in Bo and Hogz.  Mack too.  Myers and Edler possibly.  But no one like Burr, Hansen, Kes, Juice, Torres, etc.

And here i thought the common agreement on the 2011 team was it was soft lol.   Compared to the 94 team they for sure were.   When Burrows, Hansen, Kesler, Torres and Bieksa are your "tough" players .... wow.    Take the fight as in what exactly?  Only one of those guys could actually fight.   Juice.   McEwen - well maybe Juice would feed him his lunch - who knows.    Personally i don't think our current team is any softer then that one.   Have to go back to the WCE era before you find a team that would "take the fight " to anyone.   It just is what it is now.    Glad we at least have some toughness, like we did in 2011... but neither team is one that we should be putting on a pedestal when it comes to that sort of thing.   The 2011 team was balanced and highly skilled.

You're arguing different levels of toughness. 2011 wasn't tough as in "take your lunch money" tough, but they were grindy AF.

We've never had a team remotely close to as grindy (which is why that team destroyed everybody but unfortunately they were probably the most injured team to ever play in the finals for the cup ever). 7 of the top 9 forwards were injured and 4 of the 6 dmen were injured.

How much heart do you want Hogs to have?  Guy busts his ass pretty much every shift like Motte.

Isn't this one of the most worrying things about our team? They are being shown by a rookie how they need to play. Maybe the decent playoff run last year deluded them into thinking they are better than they really are. Did they think they were going to walk the North division?

It's a short season, if they don't bring their A game every night then we have a wasted year.

Green is acting like Willie playing his favorites and not the players who deserve it

coaches play to win. They'll field veterans they know over kids nearly all the time unless the GM takes the option away.

Playing holtby and eriksson tonight is  not playing to win.

well.... the numbers on Loui's defensive game say otherwise. He's a black hole for offence, not even sure he can hit an empty net anymore, but he's actually still quite useful as a responsible line partner.

if you check out the site Natural Stat Trick they have a line tool there where you can see a players impact with other line mates and you can build the case for Loui's defence from that, if anyone cares to.

Playing him confirms the strategy that Green is hoping not to lose, not coaching to win.

Playing Holtby just defies logic if you are playing to win. Demko has been better in all areas and is fresh.  He could easily play back to back with  no risk of fatigue and might actually get into a groove.
