What I dislike about Jim's style and decisions is............ 1. His long term UFA signings 2. His slow start to the rebuild 3. His only going for a re-tool 4. His allowing Veterans to walk for free 5. His handling of his coaches 1. LE ... the rest are debatable 2. He rebuilt his second draft one year after the re-tool begun - the first one was just before he was hired, still not a good draft. 3. Ownership - or a way to get his foot in the door or both, who knows. Doesn't matter anyways - he rebuilt the team regardless. 4. Hamhuis ... who else? Gagne? Vanek? Bieksa, Hansen Burrows ...Lack? yes Hamhuis a major major fail (sarcasm). This ones tied to MG. 5. No comment. For me at least, too early to tell. 6. Love you Jankishockeynut so do respect your list. Not sure if he should still be in charge of this hockey club but he doesn't deserve to be hated. With that said, the sooner he goes, the sooner we can become a respectable hockey club again. Hope this helps. Come on - i've seen a lot better then that from you - go on - you can DO it. List all the picks he's thrown away - as in Vey, Bear (Torts, Bieksa) - who else was it anyways from what i've read it seemed like dozens - ok Sutter right? Or did we get a pick back from Kesler that went to McAan that went into Guddy who went into Pearson...man he wasted a lot of stuff, Motte, Lack pick, well someone did the math and it turns out over his tenure we are missing one second but gained a first ... whoops. Doesn't fit the narrative. Just like for those that complained about all the extra UFA payments - cried the most when we didn't sign TT... all his games ... like a lord he would have taken us over the top for sure ... Markstrom, well at least some JB bashers saw the contract he got and backed away ... but not all did and made themselves very noticeable during our start. Now have since slithered under the bridge on that one. JB has done - compared to his peers - an above average job over his tenure. Asked to re-tool - he did it - while rebuilding all along. Stupid idea - absolutely - i know people that didn't want to re-sign Sedins and blow it up then ... that would have been wise. Not on JB though is it? For sure high hopes expectations and standards matter. Taken this long seems like a long time i'm sure to folks in their 30's or less. Welcome to the new and "improved" NHL, where the average odds are every 32 years you can win a cup. Send your complaints there / that's the correct target.

IBatch
Ok. So let's do this right. JB did a great job when he started with the mandate to re-tool, went out and found the best Luongo replacement in Miller - targeted Iginla, didn't get him but did find the next best available guy in Vrbata. Finished 7th overall after the failed Torts hire. Then had arguably his best draft...first one not so good. Tried to plug the tweener holes with Bear and Veg (we were a vet team if you re-call, and MG left him with virtually nothing to work with other then Hutton and Horvat...CLB got who again their first two drafts ? Hmmm...) Despite this it didn't seem likely it would ever work form where i was standing at least, but he for sure gave it a go. The time to blow it up had already passed when the Sedins were given their last contract....too bad really. After that some good and some bad. Maybe we could have drafted a little better - but really that's just hogwash because he did draft well. Better then 2/3 of the league since he came here and that includes two questionable drafts. Let's just leave that alone. LE ... lol. Wow terrible. Nobodies debating that. Going all-in to make the playoffs is the only thing that still to me is either a bad or good thing. Miller - no issue with that PGP since we've acquired him, that can cost so so much more (how's Hall and Skinner doing anyways?) ... Ferland is palatable but for sure a mistake ... that said too bad we didn't have him too. Team needs more Ferland in it. After LE, AR is his biggest dud. Beagle is fine, if we had more toughness i'd say crap but he does what he does night in night out. Myers - don't get me on that subject - great pickup given a massive massive hole on the right side .. we could do so much worse. Said before the off-season to let everyone go and some laughed at that idea. Explained why. JB must be reading my posts lol (ok that's delusional). For sure understand why he did it. Feel overall, since we've hired him and including his bumbling re-tool years that he's an above average GM. Top third in the league. Would suggest some that really don't like him, spend more time and look at what other GMs are doing with their teams. Dubas? Tried to ruin the entire system with his ridiculous second contracts. "But his team is so good"... sure results matter too. For me JB has a rope that lasts two more years. Next year even with the raises and pretty much the same team- i'd expect a better team. Sure would be nice to beat on 4 Ottawa's instead of one right? Playoffs are a must. Also would be ok with dumping LE if the return because of cap space is what we need - but prefer to wait it out. LE-Luongo's cap gone - zero excuses at that point. Don't mind the length of tenure one bit. Look at Poile in NSH and Trotz with him...15 years was it? Just Imagine Dumb Nuck and 2288 in 11 more years with TG...ok that's mean. I just am trying to say that things aren't so bad - better then they should be really. On average.
Duodenum
Have a competent GM come in and build the team using the young guys Benning has collected would be a dream. Patrik Laine
I don't get the Benning hate. No gm is perfect. If this team fired Jim im scared it could go back to the worst prospect pool in the nhl very quickly again. Benning needs to see this through. I blame the vast majority of the poor play this year on Green. Love to see what a veteran nhl coach could do with this team next year. Keep the faith CDC 2 1

Gotta keep replacing higher salary guys with new up and comers when there ready. 1
RU SERIOUS
Yep. JB has done a pretty good job drafting on the whole, less so with his signings, which for the most part have leaned towards being too long and for too much for average to below average players (Mainly our bottom 6 Fwd's and couple of Dmen). After last season where he let Marky, Tanev and others walk (Tofolli excepted) I suspect he's now realized that panic signing older/marginal/injury-prone players is not in the best interest of the team and is a recipe for mediocre results. Hopefully this month he trades our Old timers with expiring contracts before seasons end so he gets something/anything for them or otherwise DOES NOT RESIGN THEM next year. This team needs to speed up and get some grit soon so we can compete in 2-3 years when our stars hit prime and signing Senior citizens like Sutter, Edler and Co to long term overpriced contracts will kill that possibility. I'd rather sacrifice 1-2 years of purge to actually see us be contenders. Otherwise if JB and Aqua-Lini want to ice a marginal team then they can go ahead and keep signing Loui Eriksson, Roussel, Sutter and Beagle type deals (to name a few) to their hearts content - but don't count on the fans to get excited enough to spend $500 for a night out with the family at the game!
