The NHL used to end in ties but changed the rule to increase playoff races and to make OT more exciting. Personally I'm a fan of the actual 3 on 3 but I think teams should get 3 points for a regulation win.

A team like the Habs have 8 points for losing and if the games were 3 points teams that win in regulation would balance out the loser point.

I think IIHF has that points style.

hopefully they do. it took them 5 years to find a consistent linemate for horvat and by the last year or so of that time you could tell he was getting frustrated with the revolving door of wingers. to take away pearson now would be a pretty bad look.

You bring up all the bad things that have happened but the fact is even tho things started so poorly we have a chance to pass the Habs on Saturday and Petey should be back for the Jets. 

Unless you think that we are the team that was garbage the first 16 games giving up goals at a pace not seen since 93 then that's fine,  I don't. I think we are a better team than at least the Habs, Jets, Flames and seeing these teams fall off 2 firing their coaches and yet to even face the tough part of their schedule lends to that.

The Habs over-achieved to start we under-achieved, if we end up missing by 1 point so be it but losing lots and losing badly at the off-chance we get a higher pick has already been proven unsuccessful, just ask Sabre, Oiler and Devil fans.

Meh, their record and 8 loser points says otherwise. They just seem to have Canucks number. Hopefully that changes with these 2 games

I wouldn't sign Pearson with my candy land money. What canucks fans should do is start a go fund me page for loui eriksson to raise enough money for him to cover whats left on his contract next year so he can retire. I think if we start it now we could raise enough by next season.

Motivated or not. We need to win games with urgency. Every game is a playoff game right now. Playing the best players in prominent roles is the best way to do that imo. 

 

Vesey has 7 pts in 30 games. Been with the team 3 days.

 

Motte 6 pts in 16 games. Been with the team for 3 years. 

 

I know who I'd be starting with Bo.

 

Bo gets the hard minutes anyway. So motte would still retain his checking role.
