This is exactly what this team is capable of. 

Not because we don't have Markstrom, Stecher or Tanev anymore. 

 

We have the talent to compete.

It's all a matter of chemistry and consistency and luckily this team is starting to put it together like the team from August 2020.

Skates pretty well, good along the boards, has size, and mind for offense. Thought he was decent.

he's also physically present in general, and is not vacant without the puck - critically. (a viable secondary penalty killer in a pinch - although not necessarily needed in that sense).    I don't mind if he doesn't provide much production as long as he stays engaged over 200ft.

schmidt is a giant upgrade on tanev. statistically he's our best 5 on 5 dman and great on the pk too

Hoglander, Hawryluk and Motte have got to frustrate the hell out of other teams with their relentless pressure. The Canucks are suddenly a hardworking team on a nightly basis.
