Fans In The Stands Being Discussed

I'd wait until next season. Provided I could afford it. I have a funny feeling tickets might be even more expensive next year to recoup the losses.

Then again, maybe there will be a mix of really expensive and really affordable, just to get the seats filled.

It will be upper deck for sure for me. I like the atmosphere and the view better.

We're inching back to some form of normality.

Hockey is HUGE in my life....it's what I do for entertainment.   I, for one, will be so excited to see a game live again...I never took it for granted and I certainly appreciate the entire experience.

Early on, but it's light at the end of the tunnel that it's even being discussed.   (Dad got vaccinated today so everything's starting to trend in the right direction).

Can hardly wait for the day......

I can't imagine for this season there will be fans.  I think they will try to keep prices flat for the 2021-2022 season.  I am a season ticket holder and they will be keeping our price the same as the 2019-2020 season.  They can't really lower prices on single game tickets.  But they could really try to push 4-game packs and give a discount that way.  If demand is strong tickets will see a big jump for 2022-2023.  All the teams that are allowing fans right now seem to have very high demand.  Tickets on stubhub are overpriced everywhere right now.

Very excited, even if it's just a few fans, to see some people in attendance. Live attendance isn't huge for me personally, but seeing fans cheer on our guys adds to the atmosphere and makes the game more exiciting.

In the most recent email I was told no ticket increases for the next season when fans are in the stands. I actually pre-paid for this season and they offered me my money back or they can keep the money for the following season and they will give me a gift card to use in the building (food, beer, canucks store etc). I took the gift card, I think it was $200-$300 can't quite remember.

I wouldn't be opposed to at most 2500 fans in the building: in home unit groups, like single family seating with wide berths of nothing in the middle.

That at least would bring in a quarter million a game at 100 bucks a ticket. ten home games remaining: 2.5 million in gate stubs.

I would also like to actually hear and see some fellow fanatics making the noise (*and lets face it, the Canucks CAN do a little better at the canned noise at home games right? With a small homer club leading the fan noise the canned noise guy will know exactly when and where to use what recordings and volume settings, imo, to add more authenticity to the TV viewers experience (and there are millions of us)

and then by the playoffs, if we limbo under that bar by the end of the season, we will be much more ahead on Vaccinations and could likely open it up even further!

Maybe by playoffs? :bigblush:  jk

Maybe next season once I've gotten the shot, and even then I think it could be a very weird experience, paranoia. Might even wait until the 2022/23 season to see a LIVE game. Canucks should be contenders by then.

This is how I feel....after I'm vaccinated for sure.  And, even then, I'll likely keep my CANUCKS mask on for some time.  I imagine, at least initially, things'll be spread out a bit.  But the idea of being packed in a stadium is a big no for me until it's deemed absolutely safe.

Thank God. Things are looking up. I won’t get my hopes up as Dr. Henry is a bigger buzz kill than Buzz Killington.

She definitely isn't an easy nut to crack but I like that...I'd rather have someone who's proactive than lax in all of this.  I feel she's done a great job for the most part.  Not perfect, but has navigated this pretty well.

Not a chance for this year. The third wave has begun.   There's a reason why major cities in Canada are rushing to build massive outdoor treatment units (like Sunnybrook in Toronto, Foothills in Calgary to name a few of many)   They know what is coming!!!  Just look at the number in BC the last 2 weeks !!!!  Don't kid yourself - we are still a very long ways from getting back to normal.

The new Variants have arrived and will likely outpace the vaccine because of its high transmissibility and infection rate, the extremely slow vaccine roll-out, the fact that most of the vaccines don't address these new Variants and the fact some people aren't taking proper PPE precautions because they're sloppy, forgetful or too dumb & undedicated to handle such a complicated responsibility in their lives - or just don't give a damn ! (Just take a walk anywhere in Surrey and Abbotsford and see how many people don't wear mask - that's why they are the most contaminated places in BC and Canada.  Its a disgrace!)

The sad part is that the new Variants seem to like younger people and don't forget the official stat - is that 31% of people that catch Covid have some form of Severe Long Term effects - that includes all age categories.  That's the real risk to most - let alone a lesser risk of death!  The side effects are a horror show of symptoms - too many to list.

So as for me - I have no plans to attend any large gatherings until most are vaccinated and the Vaccines protect from the variants and there is very strong evidence of safety and survivability.  Trust me this is not some sort of Flu or Cold - YOU DON'T WANT TO CATCH THIS !

If the Canucks force me to renew next year and i don't feel its safe - I'll cancel and lose my seniority.    I don't care - my life is more important and i truly hope the Canucks organization doesn't force season ticket holders to choose between life & death just to retain their membership to get over the hump.

Agree.  We are very lucky to have a practical and logical person navigating us through this like Dr. Bonny.  Imagine having a guy like those premiers from Alberta or Ontario?
