The First Rule of Game Management? Don't talk about Game Management

The second paragraph, “...or his intention,...”

He shared his intention with a fellow ref, who did nothing. Thereby, a possible accomplice to said intention. Would Kelly Sutherland not be held to the same scrutiny as Peel then?

If Colin Campbell wants to “ensure the integrity of the game”, Sutherland at the very least should be investigated (and in my opinion fired) for not bringing this forward.

On a side note, say Sutherland did do something, and reported this to the game officials. Has a ref ever been ejected? I wonder if the NHL has protocols in place for such a situation.

That's how you know it's a hush job to sweep it as fast as possible. Sutherland was entirely complicit and is not being mentioned at all.

It needs to blow up. Big. It's actual match fixing - anybody who manages gambling or whatnot should be asking a lot of difficult questions and the NHL should not be able to hide behind that shield and push Peel out as fodder.

Just another example of what I have been saying since the 90s. The NHL is crooked. I have seen time and time again where a team is dominating and up a couple of goals only to see a “game management” call. The losing team scores on the power play and the momentum completely changes resulting in the losing team coming back and winning.

I admit, I just got up and am not at my best; however what's the big deal?

All I've heard is a guy saying he wanted to give a penalty earlier. While he wanted to, the infractions were not quite at the level he requires to call a penalty, till the one he did call.

Not suprising at all.

Had he said I wanted to call a penalty earlier, but the league wouldn't like it; there would be a story here, imo.

It was, but it shouldn't be part of their jobs. Their job is soley to enforce the rules. Period.

Ray Ferraro: “1) I find it interesting the outrage of many about Tim Peel and his comment. Many subscribe to “refs get in the way, shouldn’t call so many penalties or they let too many go”…those ideas quickly lead to make up calls. My thought is to simplify it all. Call the rule book.

Ha, Ha. sounds like I have Ray on my side. !

This firing narrowly beats out my previous favourite Tim Peel moment. Bortuzzo’s goal with an assist to Peel’s nuts

So was this goal disallowed as the title of the video suggests? Is there a rule that a goal cannot be scored if it's off a ref?

Well f#$% the game on tonight, I got better things to waste my time on surprisingly.  If the NHL continues to favor teams over the other then why bother watching?  Anyone who says this isn't a big deal should either go back and watch the 2011 SCF or re-read what have wrote on here after.  We were all outraged at the officiating.
