Popular Post Curmudgeon
From Todd Cordell, Calgary blogger on HockeyBuzz. Seems he isn't a Markstrom fan: "Things aren’t much better at the other end of the ice. The Flames make too many head scratching mistakes defensively and, despite pouring a ton of resources into the position, they can’t get any goaltending. Jacob Markstrom, the marquee free agent netminder coming off consecutive (team) MVP seasons in Vancouver, has looked like a shell of himself. He owns a very disappointing .902 save percentage and ranks 68/77 with a Goals Saved Above Expected number of *checks notes* MINUS 8.99. That sandwiches him between 40-year-old Ryan Miller and fringe NHLer Marcus Hogberg, who plays for the lowly Ottawa Senators. I’m sure that’s what the Flames had in mind when getting into a bidding war for Markstrom's services. In short, the Flames are lifeless offensively, too mistake prone defensively, and they can’t get a save from their expensive goaltender in Year 1 of 6. Good stuff, good stuff." And there are those who still dump on Benning for letting Markstrom walk. 7 4
Toyotasfan
Looking forward to seeing what Travis Boyd can do. Getting low on wingers, is Louie Eriksson coming back? 1

How about Megan Fox wearing langereis in bed and tells you to come join her because she wants to show you something. There is only 1 right option and that is to extend his contract by 5+ years. Clark turned Bobrovsky into elite Vezina winner. Made Marky elite 2 time team MVP. Look what he's done with Demko. Holtby signed here because he wanted to get coached by Clark and get back to top tier goaltending. He's a work in process but he'll come along.. He also worked with Luongo and Schneider on his previous 7 years stint with Canucks before going to CBJ. Florida spent 7 years @ 10 mill per season on Bobs. I think they might poach Clark and reunite him with Bobs to get his game back to elite level . I can see them offer Clark a high wage and chance to live in sunny Florida. Apparently Curtis Sanford works very very closely with Clark, and being in Utica they both have complete continuity in their coaching philosophies. I imagine it will get worked out in the off season but if not, perhaps Sanford will elevate

This just proves that paying any vets 30+ with money & term is no longer a good idea - imo. 1

JB better lock Clarke up long term.
