Here is some further details from Patrick Johnston via Twitter:

"Some timeline clarity: Gaudette positive result was from yesterday’s test. Came in during today’s practice. Was pulled immediately. His test from earlier today will serve as the confirmatory test. If it’s negative, he’ll be tested again tomorrow. Result of that test will be final status."

"Results of today’s round of testing will tell the story for rest of Canucks players/staff. Everyone now must stay home and isolate from family who are at home."

There should be a big asterisk next to the Cup winner this year. Friggin Leafs will probably get to the Final 4 because of the division-only play. MTL lost players, DAL had to start late, this season is a mess, and so what if the Canucks don't get in and go far. It's about the future, when things get back to a new normal, when fans can attend games, when travel is allowed. That's when the Canucks will be raring to go, Podkolzin on Horvat's wing. Ahhh those will be good days. For now, COVID is ruining everything, looking forward to the Draft. And even if the Leafs get to the Final 4, good luck with Tampa.

This is the NHL's definition of a "close contact":

Quote

Persons shall be considered to be a “Close Contact” if they have been within 6 feet of the Index Individual for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period, starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic Index Individuals, 2 days prior to test specimen collection), until the time the Index Individual is isolated. Close Contacts may include a Player’s family if a Player tests positive. In Canada, the relevant provincial or local public health definition shall be consulted to determine close contacts requiring necessary follow-ups.

You could put a bunch of emojis engraved with the cup winner this year. A cups a cup.

Thanks Habs.

Wish him well...this is nothing to take lightly and I'm not sure why we would.

Jake also is home/not feeling well.  :(

Pretty BOLD to put this positive test on the Habs...considering we have been off for a week and played the Jets before the break. It might be true but there is no way to prove when he contracted it. If it was from le Frenchies, then there will be many more NHL players who will test positive very soon I would ahve to think
