[Discussion] Value of Colin Miller

My guess is the Sabres will keep Miller to expose meet minimum exposure requirements for expansion.  They can then protect Dahlin, Ristolainen, and Jokiharju since Montour and McCabe are UFAs.

Looks likely to me, he's the expansion eligible D they probably don't care about protecting.

But if we were to acquire him, who do we expose? There's no point in acquiring someone and not protecting them. And do we get the Vegas Miller or the Boston/Buffalo Miller?

cheaper to re-sign Hamonic probably. I'd be interested if Buffalo retained 1/2.

If only they would waive their NTC's, I'd offer Roussel or Beagle.  Roussel in particular is someone that I'd prefer to see gone, and it'd be a savvy swap IMO to get a well-rounded two-way RHD who can play on both sides of the ice, for less than $4 million.  If Edler doesn't come back we would still be in good shape with him, since as recently as when he was with Vegas he was on a heavy lifting pair with Brayden McNabb.

Roussel and Beagle for Eakin and Miller would be sweet, and we'd get a 3rd line center and all-round D.  Heck I'd be down if we were the ones to throw in the extra late pick in this deal.
