Expecting a L can’t blame them . Best case is we bottom out and get a top four pick .

Not really.  Best case we sweep TO and OTT... this becomes a big FU to the league and this happens.  Except that's us not St. louis ice hockey sport GIF by NHL

I think he was hit pretty hard by Covid and still out.  (One of the few guys we need to get some game action - typical luck)

I don’t know when or where but DiPietro has not played a game in over a year. He is one of the guys that needs to play, and soon.

In 30 minutes it was sunny, then storm clouds moved in, we got, thunder, lightening, hail, wind, snow, then sheets of rain. And back to sunshine. So basically the four seasons in 30 minutes

Wow, that's shorter to listening to it by Vivaldi!

Please please please give Lind some games. Management needs to suck up its pride and understand this season is done. Sit Hughes and Pettersson for the rest of the season and play the rookies.

Can he play defence? The team looks pretty depleted right now.

Wonder if the team will have to run Miller/ Boeser/ Vesey predominantly since we don't know how affected the regulars are still (and as their replacement we will be running taxi squad guys), and with Demko out hopefully at least Holtby can play.

No matter the result, as long as they don't sustain more damage (from Covid still to be recovered from or injury) it should be viewed as a job well done for the boys (no Petey/ Hughes/ Demko/ Juolevi/ Schmidt/ Virtanen/ Motte).

its called COVID, not the flu. professional athletes  can get very sick  with it and  some have even suffered with long term effects.  some players around the league have said they are still not back to normal!

Add in the fact that it was a variant

and I saw Green had thanked 2 UBC specialists, doctors in respiratory / lung surgeon

That damn Harper screwed us again. No home made drugs! Such an obvious need and yet Trudeau in 6 years hasn't corrected the problem? We can grow dope at home so surely we can make our own drugs. The Canadian health care system delivers what care at half the cost. I would challenge whether you have any numbers on what the Canadian system costs?

Enough of that. I have been a big supporter of Utica because of the limited travel which gives more practice time, more workout time. At one time I thought Utica might appeal to unsigned university players and thusly they sign with the Canucks. All this aside the development time line is now at a point where the traffic between the AHL team and the Canucks might be more of a factor. Moving players easily between the two could be more of a priority.

Yup, Harper's CERTA deal with the EU assured Canadians pay 10% more for drugs than other single payer countries, only compounded Mulroney's giveaway to the pharmaceuticals, and selling off of Connaught Labs.

But Trudeau hasn't gone out of his way to correct any of that either.

As far as health care spending, I don't have the exact total numbers, but whatever it is, there are tons of studies showing Canadians pay roughly half per capita than our neighbours to the South for health care.

https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/chart-collection/health-spending-u-s-compare-countries/#item-spendingcomparison_gdp-per-capita-and-health-consumption-spending-per-capita-2019

According to the graph on there, from 2019,

Canada spends $5418 per person

USA spends $10,966 per person

As far as Utica.....I hadn't commented on that but since you brought it up, its a balance.  Good point about practice time also increasing with less travel.  When we were a part of the Chicago Wolves organization we were at least a little more central.  And maybe that's the best compromise. Maybe an American city even more central than Chicago.  A compromise for not only AHL league travel, but for recalls, whether Canucks are at home or away.

On the other hand, having the farm team very close to the main team has its advantages too. Bad for the AHL team travel.  But for half the games for the Canucks they will play at Rogers Arena, so having that ability to call up and send down prospects easier would be helpful to the big club.  And for fans it would be fantastic to attend games and follow the prospects more readily.
