It cost the leafs a first to get rid of marleau when the world was normal. I dont think we can even get rid of LE for a first.  Also burying only saves a million.

marleaus contract was 250k more  and they got a late 1st   its different getting a top ten pick versus 23rd overall  its almost a early second.  Teams might take  that contract  once bomus paid its only 3 mill real money with a 6 mill cap hit.  Low budget teams like coyotes sens  might take a early 2nd or maybe  benning has a trade for oel where they take roussel eriksson and beagle and ferland and virtanen contracts and a second contracts  for oel 21 mill outgoing cap av  but  19 mill actual money   we take on oel contract  @ 7 mill times 6 yrs 42 mill actual money  they retain a 1.25 extra at 6 yrs

so 42 mill to 26.6 mill real money  coyotes save  15.4 mill longterm

Not.   Been saying all year the only thing JB needs to do is create a situation where he can protect Myers.   He did that.   We need more like him on the team, not less.

Myers has proved time and time again since the bubble that he is an important player on this squad. He has been by far the best dman this season and was pivotal in the playoffs.

Apparently we dumped Schmidt as well.  People are putting a lot of faith in Tryamkin.  A 2nd pairing of Joulevi and Try is scary.

I am hopeful that the Nucks extend Hamonic and Edler.  The rest is obvious.

Yup I’ll take his cap hit. We can’t replace him at this point. Not to mention he seems to bring a lot of leadership to the group. Games like the last one prove a bond is important for the group
