How many decades do they need to clarify rules on fighting(instigator, extra 2's, etc...), & streamline it so there's a consistent application?

A- They simply don't want to. They'd prefer the waters are murky, as just ANOTHER way to rig a deck.

Today was just one more example(from my own pov) that folks should spend less & less time consuming the product of pro sport. I've dumped all the others(decades ago), except this team's games. I F***ing hate wasting precious time on something that's not straightforward & transparent.

Who knows if they give a hoot whether long-time fans vote with their feet? It's their biz..run it like a Vegas casino if that's what they want.

I also hate lil' sneaky media wh*res like Friedman, with their slippery explanations, for a shoddy league that don't fly straight.

Watching the replay it's embarrassing that BT interferes/hits  a new teammate, Hamonic skates in, they both drop at the same time and Hamonic is the one who gets the instigator (he gave BT enough time to let him know he was coming).    Sure if Hamonic came in and started pummeling him and he acted like his brother and didn't bother dropping them and turtled, then give him 2 and a 10 and a 5...maybe something was said we couldn't hear but even the the extra two was a bad call.     It's almost like they want to curb all fighting.    And this is a perfect example of when it's a reasonable thing to do.

Well hopefully this game will put an end to the dream of the playoffs

the focus needs to shift to getting nhl minutes for the true future guys and not focus on playing people that are not going to be Canucks in the future

Boyd

Highmore

Vesey

Sutter

Chatfield

Green

Brown

Baumer

These guys are all simply warm bodies until next season

replace that list and we are a very decent team

wow...myers is the 2nd star...guess everyone's been drinking tonight

Myers played tons of minutes and was probably the best Canuck out there. Did you even watch the game?

The pretend playoff push has been over since the last series with the Habs & Jets (last games before the COVID quarantine).   I agree it is time to play the rookies and showcase the future but the staff won’t do it (been saying this for awhile now).

They weren't even sure....that's the mind boggling part.  Scoresheet (I believe) and the NHL tracker both had game misconduct.

Agreed, but the comment came loooooong after it was sorted out.  Anyone who watched the game would know that Hamonic was back in the second.

Who were those refs anyway?  Hold ’em to account! Not putting names on their backs or letting the zebras answer questions from fans or the media, has sheltered these officials from reality-checks & the proper consequences for actions, more often than not.

I want their blunderings remembered - so they don’t forget to learn something from them. They should feel pressure from within & without to get more in sync with what that NHL rule book actually states  - and without the practice of  bias or attempts to carry over justice from any other game.

It seems like some officials treat Tkachuk like a very-privileged VIP legacy player - whom they’ve pledged to serve & protect over & above his fellow union bros. He’s a chippy & chirpy player, who likes to run around, but somehow gets shielded from the most direct consequences of his actions. Messier-esque, you could say! And this league had the absolute gall to name a ”tone-deaf”leadership award after ^that guy, too!

This NHL’s mixed messaging to their players is dumb-founding & evil - especially in the ways it frequently panders to their very traditional & old-school base, who still fight  against the evidences of medical science, good conscience &  essential progress required to elevate this sport & protect its’ best assets,...the players, every one of them!

The ol' boys club...Keith Tkachuk a member so his sons get free passes to act like d bags out there.  I didn't mind Brady but last night saw the true Tkachuker that he is.  Even AFTER that hit....he did a fake shoulder/run at someone in the corner.  Like he knows he's above the law and the cockiness just comes by way of that.

Over it now, but what a gong show.  Players WANT to be able to police themselves on the ice because it's dangerous when they can't.  That reaction by Hamonic is 100% what needs to happen when a guy's running other guys with late, open ice hits away from the puck.

Well, looks like the Canucks might’ve taken the Senators a little too lightly.

Nope, we just didn’t play well. No real offence and the Sens were good defensively.

Maybe he's having lingering effects from COVID?

Naw - if you watch the 2nd Toronto pre-game he was asked specifically if his not playing was a coach's decision.  Green played cute, with the "banged up" comment,  then went on to say he had to show more, and that he liked the play of the (then) current bottom six.  It was obviously a coach's decision.

Yeah not a fan of Tkachuk clan either but to be fair that fake shoulder /run was directed at Hughes and they are really good friends outside the rink. Both Hughes and Tkachuk families are close.
