Mackcanuck
Tiny hummingbird stops construction on the Trans Mountain pipeline in B.C. for 4 months https://globalnews.ca/news/7810288/tiny-hummingbird-sork-trans-mountain-pipeline-burnaby-four-months/ Work on the Trans Mountain’s pipeline construction has now been stopped for four months after the discovery of hummingbird nests during tree cutting. Work on the Trans Mountain’s pipeline construction has now been stopped for four months after the discovery of hummingbird nests during tree cutting. Members of the Community Nest Finding Network (CNFN) alerted federal wildlife officers in early April over concerns workers on the Trans Mountain pipeline in Burnaby were not complying with the Migratory Birds Convention Act. According to the CNFN, on April 12, officers saw the felling of a tree with a hummingbird’s nest in it and as a result, Environment and Climate Change Canada issued the stop-work order until Aug. 21. Anna’s hummingbirds, among the most commonly seen on the West Coast, are migratory birds. Under the Migratory Birds Act, unless regulations are made, no one can allow for a situation where migratory birds may be killed, captured or taken or their nests be damaged, destroyed removed or disturbed. 1

Gurn
Before people get ticked off, I'll point out the article says they stopped working on a 900 metre area; the rest of the project is still going .
JoeyJoeJoeJr. Shabadoo
One of these little suckers built a nest on a wind chime outside my front door. Everytime I go outside she takes flight and scares the bejesus out of me. That being said I've put up a number of hummingbird feeders around the yard and I'm going to do my best to make sure she's successful. 3

Also shouldn't the title read hummingbirds? Are they purposely trying to incite the climate change deniers? 1

Yeah....they make it sound like it's a single hummingbird putting a stop to the project.... ....I picture a predominantly green bird, with John Lennon glasses, a Woodstock T-Shirt, sandals and some bongos....

I had one fly into my work truck one day and kinda get stuck at the back of the dash, underneath the windshield. I’d been out of the truck for a few seconds and didn’t see it get in. The thing scared the sh** out of me. I’ve got about 200 pounds on that bugger and he had me beat.
Chesster
Shut down construction for a hummingbird and happily flood entire valleys for green power. Ridiculous.

CanuckinEdm
lol I love that people think that not having a pipeline stops oil from moving ... instead of a stationary pipe with shutoffs it will be shipped by train, truck ect.
