Almost every game, the entire time i've watched them, have gotten away with a penalty or two, no matter whom they are playing.   It happens.  Yes we could bring up loads of examples where things weren't called right, virtually like every other fan base.   Sorry your not going to convince me that " the league is out to get us ", and i've been watching them since the 80's.   Was there when Messier brutally cross checked Momesso.   There when Otto kicked in too.   Also watched McAbe and his can openers and all the other stuff we used to get away with during the dead puck era and before and since.   I didn't like the instigator call on Hamonic.   Or the Edler fight.   Doesn't mean i'm blind to the calls we get away with either, we've had plenty of players over the years that also got away with things and still do to this day.  I just don't buy the fan victim stances sorry.   Elder.  Against Vegas one of my favourite plays by him, was a leeping full body, full arm cross check to the numbers while they were all over Demko to clear the crease.   No call.   Take the blinders off.   We get away with our fair share, and the refs rarely call a game more then 2-1 penalty wise.   How many penalties had our team drawn this year anyways?   Know before EP went down, because he's a master at this, we led the entire league.   And were near the top last year too.   I'd prefer a tougher throwback team but those days seem to be over.    Code is good enough for me.

Honest evaluations will not make you popular on here. I would add that Lind could use some more edgework, needs to tighten up his turns. I give him kudos for smarts and positioning though. In the end he looks to project into an NHLer, but lets all be honest. He's not there yet.

All this talk of our teams lack of toughness brings me back. Back to when we started the rebuild and I was begging for a semi-type goon squad. We were sucking so why not go down swinging, literally. We could of changed our reputation around the NHL within a couple of rebuilding years and I for one would of watched it all with a big ass grin. Our players play hard, they put forth great effort and I support them fully. But I've been saying for years that opposition planes fly into Vancouver International and that plane full of players know it's gonna be an easy physical game. This pains me to no end.

No question he’s a work in progress but he did not look overwhelmed or out of place in his first NHL game. I think we’ll need to see many more games to know what we have. Most impressive was the fact that on a bad night he was one of the better players.
