what grade (1 to 10) would you give Travis Green?

Personally I do not think Green is the coach for our team going forward... Green can drive the Ferrari around the block without crashing but is afraid to step on the accelerator.

I is a tough question for us spectators as we do not know the dynamics or chemistry of the team behind closed doors or even on the ice for that matter.

Green seems to plays a safe style, employing dump outs and dump ins, and has very little in the way of a transition game. Leads to a lot of turn overs imho. The irony being is we are face off kings and yet give away the puck more often than not in an effort to either play safe, or green and the coaching staff has no idea how to implement strategies that involve puck moving and making plays off the rush.

Then you look at other aspects, flat starts... game preparation is poor? too many men penalties... lack of awareness running the bench? Lack of time out calls when the team is getting severely outplayed... Double whammy here? A seemingly refusal to adjust game style when getting severely out played... double whammy again?

Once could argue player personnel being an issue, or if the team is better or worse than last year, but ultimately the team has taken a step back and there are plenty of red flags surrounding the coaching staff to make any owner wonder...

5.5 out of 10.

That is my vote also, last time I got graded in school and my teacher gave me a 55% mark it was a C- and basically a kick in the pants to shape up of your gonna fail. 5.5 rating over 4 years, not the best but could be worse. I hope Travis goes to Seattle, maybe AquaMan can then sign another cheap NON NHL coach in Trent Cull from Utica to be the new cheap NHL coach for the Canucks.

Ferraro chiming in on the Travis Green situation.

I feel that we should head in a different direction with Green and replace him behind the bench after the season. If he is sought after in the open market, then more power to Green, but in numerous occasions (prior to our forced COVID break), he was being outcoached by numerous teams, especially in transitional 5-on-5 play.

While he has done well here and there with our current composition of players, he has started to evoke a sense of complacency with his team - whether it be with the players on the active/scratched rosters, or on the taxi squad, even with the papering component that can be worked into the assessment flow.

To this day I don't understand the media love fest over Green. To me he is just another meh coach especially with his assistants.

He's fine, but he needs to be held accountable for refusing to hire real coaches instead of the clowns he has as assistants.  Allowing Brown and Baumer to continue to destroy the team with their idiocy shows appallingly poor judgement.

Fire them all. How long does it take for Vancouver wise up. Reading some of the comments on here makes me realize why his such a loser franchise. Benning had 7 yrs and we're in cap trouble because of his decisions and now we should wait another two yrs. Ottawa now has more wins than us and is getting better every game. How about their rebuild. Linden was right about getting out from under this mess.

Jesus man, i get your point, we all get it, over and over and over. Your hate and disdain for the coaching staff

Is clear and continuous.........

Its your opinion and as such can respect that. Hopefully it goes both ways in your world

Have a bright sunny beautiful day where ever you may be

IMHO I think Greener has been adequate. Like our young rookie players he has made lots of mistakes and has improved year after year.

Has he improved enough?  IMHO no. It is time for a change. What i will not stoop to is name calling, thats just immature.  Calling them clowns, idiots, incompetent, etc. over and over again is inappropriate.

I often wonder how our coaching staff would fair with a line-up like Tampa bay,  Avalanche Toronto

I believe that a change is in order in the coaching staff and possibly management to give some fresh ideas a chance

A fan since 1970 im not changing teams but i prefere to be positive and supportive rather than bitching criticizing and name calling

Have a great summer everyone, Go Canucks go

Cheers

I dont think Green, Baumer, and Brown could win a Cup if they were handed the 1985 Edmonton Oilers. Theyre just not the guys for the job.

6/10 kind of annoyed by Green and some extent Jim. Starting to think something different might be nice.

Ruthford and Gallant please. do not wish to make change for changes sake but if we can add some quality championship gm ing and a talented coach I'd be for it. I'm not really enjoying our style of play this season.

As they say: There, fixed that for ya!  In my opinion, Green's only guilty by association.

Lol, he's the head coach. He's ultimately responsible for everyone beneath him. If he can't/won't address the guys under him that's an indication he isn't the right person for the job.

Lol!  Can't say I totally disagree.  But I think Green's only shortcoming is in the people he has chosen as  his assistants, Lol.  Still like to see him stay on and his assistants go....Lol!
