a legit question What does McDavid do to move faster than others?

He isn't taller than most he is average so his stride isn't any longer...

His thighs aren't that much bigger he doesn't look ripped he is pretty skinny so its not muscle mass..

It can't be how fast he moves his legs because runners are taught to take longer strides and avoid quick strides because many strides kill your energy so it can't be how quick he moves his feet..

Is there some technique only he has figured out?

Those deficiencies, especially the hockey sense issues, aren't something I'm ok with.

Same report states his hockey IQ is top notch. They were talking about his instincts there. That same quote also mentions the strides he's made defensively playing pro. Same report also states he has potential to be a Norris calibre D.

Same report.

Brandt Clarke has the potential to become a dynamic offensive defenceman going forward. He could become a franchise-changing player, as well as compete for the Norris Trophy while in his prime if he reaches his ceiling. Of course, this is no guarantee. Clarke needs to continue his development, especially in the defensive end of the ice. However, his outstanding skating ability, ability to produce offence and hockey intelligence are all high-end. Clarke has some experience playing against men, so he could challenge for a spot in camp next year, but it is more likely that a little more time in junior is needed.

Sounds like he's worth picking up if he falls to us.
