Just for fun my son provides me with some name for the new club and I likes it a lot.

West Coast Express

There is great history with this name, most NHL is aware that this unofficially belongs to Canucks, it shows the location of the club. And this looks and sounds great!

I voted Aces

Away teams/fans will call ‘em “arses”.

No.

Nothin’ gambling related either, please. BC casinos have a HUGE money laundering problem. Let this angle go,  too.

‘Ace’ will be a very cool nic-name for one of the players..or the Mascot?

But, Abbotsford Aviators with Abby A’s as a shortenened version, works for me. The team will likely be log lots of air miles, just like the big league team does.   I’d like to see Abbotsford even bring photos & memorabilia of Canadian aviation history into the arena (military or other wise).

Abbotsford Airport is the emergency back-up for the YVR Airport & this is exactly what the aviators will be, for our Canucks!

Aviators - come on board with it!

From another threat

I remember how Canucks have bought the Peoria Rivermen club in March 2013 to move it to Utica and rename Utica Comets. The Peoria Rivermen is the oldest minor league hockey franchise extant and the fourth oldest professional hockey franchise, behind the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League.

Why don't we name our new AHL club the Fraser Rivermen? The Canucks franchise has the legal right to do so and this can connect the current AHL club to the previous Utica Comets and to several Rivermen clubs before that, starting in 1972.

The local Peoria hockey club by the same name Peoria Rivermen plays in Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). There is no hockey club with name Rivermen in either NHL or AHL.

 love the idea..................Abbotsford Rivermen

Since we have Fraser River, the Fraser River Men seems to be more logical...

Besides, if Canucks decide to move their AHL club from Abbotsford, then the name Abbotsford Rivermen and its logo would need to be changed. This is not the case with Fraser River which is the main river of Lower Mainland. Hey, we have Fraser River in Vancouver!

As good as any, my friend

I had Johnny Canuck with a hockey stick instead of a pipe pole, on a boom, pushing logs......something along those lines

But I get your reasoning
