How come it's "receive"/ "conceive"/ "perceive" but it's "sieve"? I get that the rule is "I before E except after C", but in this case, the "S" sounds as a "C" does in the previous 3 words, so it's weird as to why its spelling changed when it literally sounds the same. Also, back on topic, its (possessive, something belonging to "it")/ it's (it is). English is a warped yet awesome language.
RUPERTKBD
Here's an interesting one: Take the series of letters ghghgh...... The first gh is pronounced as it would be in the word "Hiccough"....the second gh as it would be in the word "Edinburgh" and the third gh as it would be for "cough".... The pronunciation would be "puff".....

Hoglander is a great complimentary player for Horvat ...... to which I reply "yes, I have noticed that he praises Bo a lot in these interviews" Rush to post (without reading first) imo is the #1 reason Spellcheck won't pick up the word-completion mistakes, only reading before hitting "submit" can pick many up Also, speech to text can distort things (I have seen some gibberish after I have tried that) (The other one is reigns instead of reins ...as in: "Hughes is taking the reigns this season". Really? Does Green know?) Rains

J.I.A.H.N
cough, cuff and calf It depends if its a Scotsman, an Irish man, or an English man, who says it. And really when you think about it, all 3 words are used in all 3 dialects (nationalities) in a different order

Popular Post RUPERTKBD
Personally, I prefer the version of English that Ricky from Trailer Park Boys uses: "You cops got a search warranty?" "It's gorilla see, gorilla do" "Bubbles passed that test with flying carpets" "Beauty is in the eye when you hold her" "What goes around is all around" "It's just water under the fridge" "It's denial and error" "Friends with Benedicts" "Get two birds stoned at once" "It's not rocket appliances" "It's supply and command" "That's a whole different kettle and dish" 1
