How do any of those prove he lied to Benning about wanting to come back to the Canucks?

The second one pretty much says exactly what I posted.

both accounts could be right. JB may have offered 2x3, while tryamkin way have wanted 4x3. JB could have said, we'll pay you what you want but to give you a 2 way contract so if your not one of top six d-men we can play you in me minors for 1 mil a year. try would have balked at that and decided to stay in russia. i'm not saying that is true but we don't know all the particulars. we just voice our opinions. we might be right but we may also be wrong. unless you were in on the conversation, we can only speculate.

I love Eddy, and appreciate all that he has done and meant to the team, but we have no room for a LHD. Rathbone and OJ look more than ready to compete for spots next season. If we make no pre-season moves to acquire a UFA or make a trade pre-ED, the left side will be QH, OJ, Rathbone. I'm quite comfortable with that. JB will need to resign Hamonic to join Myers and Schmidt on the right side. The team has viable cheap options for 7-8 with Chatfield and one of the decent AHL level LHD. If JB can work a deal for a quality RHD in exchange for Schmidt, that would be good too.

I am not really voicing an opinion though. I am just going by what has been reported.

Its highly unlikely Tryamkin was going to give up UFA years on any contract.

Diamond said nothing more than 1 or 2 year deals were discussed by either side and Bennings ultimate counter offer was a little bit over 1 million.

It seems based on all the info available so far that it was more Benning who didnt want him back.

I think its as good a time as any to see who can step up and be that guy.

Honestly, I think Schmidt has been and can be a far more integral piece offensively and defensively than he has been. I also think Myers can be too.

And, its a small sample size but I really like both Juolevi and Rathbone. I think both can take on some respobsibility next year.

I love Edler but its time imo.

you might be right but i won't want to risk my money on it. green tries to put the players in a position where they can succeed. we all agree that edler is nearing his end but he does allow guys like highes, juolevi and rathbone to progress in their development. i could be wrong but i don't see schmidt, myers or harmonic as true #1's, i wish we had a couple. time will tell.

it could be right, but i can't prove it. managers don't always tell the truth but neither does the players agents.

Edler is not a #1 d anymore either though.

The Canucks dont have one.

we all agree with that, but who can replace him? i'ld be happy to welcome one onto this team.

I am fine with seeing what a combination of additional minutes/defensive responsibility for Juolevi, Rathbone, alongside Myers and Schmidt could do.

Unless the Canucks can find a true #1 right side dman.
