[Rumour] Eichel wants out of Buffalo. Says there is disconnect with organization.

the only deal I'd want Jim to do is something like two conditional 1sts, starting next year. If Eichel plays 60 games each year Buffalo gets our 1st, if not, a 3rd.

I know they'd laugh and hang up, but I wouldn't trade certain assets for him with that neck problem, its too big a gamble.

And those conditional picks will be a big part of any Eichel trade that is done before he plays again.  No team will take such a huge risk.

some team will. Buffalo is floating a ridiculous balloon right now, but if someone actually presents them with a 1st and a C they'll grab it and run.

imo, Buffalo either gets what they want, or they simply don't trade Jack.

Can't afford to lose on this deal, unless the gm is willing to be replaced, and makes the deal on his way out.

So what do the Sabres do after Jack has his surgery and doesn’t recover to the level of player he was before his injury?  Then the ?GM will be questioned for not trading him before, and at least gett8ng something, including dumping the contract.

I wouldn't take that risk. He's damaged, entitled, and hasn't proven that he can elevate a team. Massive pass.

Tell their fans that it was worth the risk;

A healthy Jack is a heck of a hockey player, guy went number two overall, behind only a "generational player".

The player that said he would be better than McDavid.

Yep no character issues there.

You got to take the gamble sometimes alf. Various factors are used in this.

Rumour is that they want 6 pieces.

A young top 6 center, a top 4 D man, a 1st round pick and three prospects.

The Sabres ask from the Hawks was rumoured to be Dach, the 11th, and then 4 more pieces.

Hell no. Wouldn't even trade Dach straight up for him.

Sabres are vastly overrated this drama queen.

Teams should learn from San Jose and Erik Karlson. Eichel is a top 5 centre in the league if healthy. He's not healthy though and he may never be healthy. That injury could be something that forces him to retire.

Eichel isnt a top 5 centre when healthy.   Not even close.

Top 5 in scoring previous year at 23 years old.

Rumour is they'll be keeping Eichel until he walks for free then.

That's literally McDavid or 25 year old Crosby return.  Not Eichel....Eichel isn't even McKinnon and he's one bad hit away from drinking through a straw

That's....one year.

Lemme tell ya a little bit about former super star goal scoring threat Jonathan Cheechoo.  Or Milan Hejduk.  Star goalie Olaf Kolzig.  Maybe Norris winner PK Subban.

They all had one good year too.

One year....prior to that he was 13th, then 18th and before that not even top 25.

Where as the top 10 centres in the league since 2016/2017 have essentially been the top 10 centres in the league since 2016/2017

I could see a team like Calgary swinging a trade for Eichel.  They have the pieces needed. Tkachuk wants out and doesn't have any trade protection. Tkachuk, 1st, 2 2nds next year and a prospect could get it done. Buffalo gets a goal scorer with grit, picks and a prospect, Calgary moves a guy who doesn't want to be there & brings in a marquee name to match against McDavid a bunch of times a year.

I like this. There would be a sweet irony to Tkachuk winding up in Buffalo.
