Tony De’Angelo to van?[Discussion]

Recommended Posts

Had a really good year last year with the rangers with 53 points in 68 games with 15 goals. Hes a free agent now after the rangers released him, not sure why. Heard it was because he was a trump supporter lol. Anyways do we wanna poke around and maybe sign him? Still only 25 yrs old and a RHD which we could use.

Lol theres been so many as*holes in the league over the years what makes this guy worse?

I believe in second chances more than most. If this guy comes out with a report  that he has been working on his self confidence and anger issues with a specialist, that might change my feelings. There are about 3% of the worlds population that is extremely resistant to constructive criticism, Tony may be one of those people.

It's one thing to be a d*ckwad against opponents, it's another to be hated by many of your own teammates. DeAngelo has a history of pissing off his own teammates by being overtly arrogant, sometimes beating his own teammates when they're already down after a tough loss. There's a stark contrast between guys like Burrows/Roussel, heck even Marchand, who piss off opponents and a guy that does that to his own teammates.

Maybe he deserves a 2nd chance, maybe he doesn't.  Read what the defendant has to say and decide for yourself.

Agreed.  He's probably not getting any offers from the league personally I'd be down to PTO him and see how he gels with the room and if he's matured.
If he so much as says anything out of line (whether in the room or elsewhere) then management can drop him like that.  Minimal risk.
I think he could mature, it's just a matter of whether he actually remains consistent with that attitude change.
