Current 2021/2022 lineup

Recommended Posts

Lotto line

Pearson-Horvat-(please for the love of god get these guys a playmaker)

Hoglander-           -Podz

Motte-        -Lind

Beagle/Rous (LTIR)

Hughes-

Schmidt-Hamonic (hopefully)

Rathbone-Myers

OJ/Edler on a very cheap deal

I'm not going to speculate on who should be brought in, but there's lots of work to do and obvious needs. I'd turf almost everyone that played in the bottom six. We continue to need a playmaker for Bo's line, a partner for Hughes and bottom six centers that can can kill penalties and play with skilled players.

I think we need to continue to up the skill level of this team.  Requires a trade for Ristolainen (2021 2nd, Lind, +) and some FA signings but I’d like to see:

Miller Pettersson Boeser

Pearson Horvat Granlund

Hoglander Stastny Podkolzin

Motte MacEwen Highmore

Hughes Hamonic

Joulevi Ristolainen

Schmidt Myers

Demko

Holtby

Cap might not work so we may need to part with Schmidt (Rathbone steps in) and Holtby (DiPietro or UFA steps in, but I like the look of that lineup.

Lind and a 2nd for Ristolainen? More like: Juolevi and a 1st for them to consider it.

Yeah it will likely take more for sure.  I’d do a first for him especially if our window opens within the next two years.  He’ll be in his prime for many years to come.

Now that I've begun to get over the pain of the past season and a more realistic logic returns to me, looking forward to next season is much easier.

During media availability yesterday, JB expressed want for a balanced, three scoring line roster.

Given that comment, this seems to make sense.

?                           Petey                Boeser

Pearson               Horvat               Hoagy

?                          Miller                 Podkolzin

?                             ?                     Macewen

Hughes               Hamonic

Rathbone                ?

Juolevi                 Myers

Demko

Holtby

From where I sit, JB has a lot of holes to fill with limited resources in money and assets.

Given the Canucks current situation, it would be difficult to attract high end ufa's, leaving trades as the most likely avenue to fill needs.

Any deal that's made has to involve money going out.

However it plays out, I believe attempting quick fixes would be a mistake. Unfortunately, JB has now put a timeline on Canuck success which may only encourage rash decisions, causing more pain and anguish in fans.

Players, I believe will help this team in the future:

Draft                                                        Trades

Mason McTavish                                     Nolan Foote

Sasha Pastujov                                       Braden Schneider

Logan Mailloux                                        K'Andre Miller

Roman Scmidt                                        Jujhar Khara

Prokhor Poltapov                                    Nick Paul

                                                                RNH

                                                                William Nylander

This is a short list and has room for more but it should serve more as an example of what not who we need.
