we need talent. We don't have Demko for a decade, he's a UFA in 5. Mikey is great but we don't know what he'll be yet. But if we have another bona fide starter coming up when Demko's deal is expiring, then we have great options. 

 

We can find a 3C on the open market or trade, its very very hard to find elite goalies outside of the draft.

The Canucks have drafted 9th overall three times in team history and drafted the following players:

 

1973: Bob Dailey

1983: Cam Neely

2013: Bo Horvat

 

All good picks, so let's hope the trend continues, assuming we do pick 9th.

I would consider selecting Brandt Clarke at any draft position "winning the lottery". 
But we are getting a great player this year.

 if we really need a elite goalie we can draft one in 2-3  yrs  theres nothing saying demko doesnt resign in 5 yrs id rather that elite right hand dman to help solidify our dcore msybd we move up to 1st or 2nd id oove power or clarke or hughes
