Well.....

We are minus 97 games in the last 50 years.  Came close to being -100

1649 Wins 1746 losses.

Pretty darn close to -1000 goals differential.

I used to think there were a lot of franchises worse than us.  We are the second most pathetic franchise.  The only team worse than us for points percentage is Arizona.(I'm not including Clevlands stats)  So disheartening to think it's taken us 50 years to dig this kind of hole.  How many decades until we can be a 500 team.

I still love this team, and think we have a bright future.  Man stats don't lie, going to be a long road back to glory.

Now that's a depressing stat.

We will be a much better and different team next year. Players will be immunized, have a good pre season and training camp, players will have more practice time and will gel better.

We will make the playoffs next year.

I'm curious to see how the Benning Bros will spin this one

Just now, butters said:

I imagine they would start by explaining that a large number of those loses occurred decades before he was here? Cuz it seems like that would be a pretty simple and obvious retort.

touche Butters, excellent point

Oh yeah self dunked on that one and I will eat crow. I read it as within the last 7 years in my head. Too much Benning hate today!

I will say though it got me curious and I had to look... one season over .500 in 7 years... oof

Refreshing to see someone online admit they were wrong and own it.

I'd like to say I'd do the same, but I've never had the opportunity.

You guys must be fun at parties.

If you have to dig back 50 years to make a point, it might not be worth it.  I've seen a lot of great hockey games as a fan of this team.  But sure, let's keep track instead.

They do somewhat.

I'm assuming by your statistical analysis, that Buffalo has a higher winning percentage than us over the last 50 years.

So, even with that being said,....

1) How many Presidents' trophies have they won?

2) Conference Championships?

3) Cup appearances?

4) Divisional titles?

5) Individual accolades?

Despite our pathetic record, I'm going to go out on a limb and state that the Canucks do come out quite favourably against many teams when ignoring both overall winning percentage and number of Stanley Cups won (which by the way, the city of Vancouver has one - Vancouver Millionaires.  The CANUCKS organization however, has zero).

Road to glory will start on October 1st 2022.

If any organization out there wins multiple cups in a short number of years, all is forgotten.  Chicago's three cups from 2010-2015 is a good example of this.

Still Deb the OP makes a point. Fifty years is a long time that some of us have lived and died with every game of this team. I didn’t realize we were the absolute worst in point percentage. Better days ahead I hope!

Why dig up meaningless stat just to make yourself feel worse about your team?

The team was horrible in the 70's and 80's. Most of the losses and the negative goal differentials were accumulated in that period.

It's part of our history but no need to look back on it just to see the negatives.

I'd just like to point out that the Canucks finished with 40 or more losses in 7 of their first 9 seasons in the NHL.

Carry on.

This is why I laugh at the whiners who say JB is the cause of the worst team in franchise history.

I’d like to point out that the expansion drafts in the 1970’s were a joke. Only the absolute dregs of each teams rosters were made available. It guaranteed that expansion teams had no chance of being successful and free agency was not a thing. A brutal decade to be an expansion team.

If only we could have picked up scrubs like Tuch, Theodore, Marchessault, and Fleury
