Feel like a few Avs like Landeskog, Nichushkin and Graves really need to amp up the pushback - but not by engaging Vegas' 4th line or McNabbb - instead by targetting the right Knights.

Otherwise, the Avs in general are not cut out for an after the whistles, trenches type of series.

They need to avoid wasting their time playing into Vegas' game.

Drill Theodore and Marsharsehole - and otherwise support and transition the puck. If they can burn Vegas more often in transition - like they did in game 1 - Vegas will naturally have to back off on some of their "all in" puck pressure.

The guy they traded for had disappeared this series and hasn’t seen the ice in over 10 minutes

Sakic didn’t make as good of a trade as some people think.  A 6’6” physical defenceman is exactly what they are missing right now.  Did Sakic not understand he would need to go through Vegas to win the Cup?

I'm just curious...

Are these games 'exposing' Colorado's D?

Do they need to 'rething' their blueline -as people believed the Canucks did after that Vegas series last year?

Rhetorical/sarcastic question, btw.

Yup.  That Avs’ D is something else.  I think we’re getting there too.  Hughes and Bone have that kind of elite skating, skill, compete, and smarts combination.  Would be nice to find a guy in this draft who has that too.  I think Schmidt can play like that too.

If Colorado tries to play tit for tat and play into Vegas’s game plan they will lose this series.  They don’t have the physical pieces to play the game Vegas likes to play.  They will need to win this series based on skill and speed.

They miss those 200+ hits for sure (and hard minutes)

And they miss Erik Johnson as well = physical and plays hard minutes - but injured/not traded.

Sakic did add Graves before moving Zadorov - but that blueline should probably not be considered a finished product.

Not sure if they showed the Bruins and Islander picks in that 2015 draft on the broadcast that you guys are watching...  but that's a big ouch for the Bruins.

13.  Boston: Jakub Zboril

14.  Boston: Jake DeBrusk

15.  Boston: Zachary Senyshyn

16.  NY Islander: Matthew Barzal

...

23. Vancouver: Brock Boeser

Could you imagine adding Barzal and Connor to the Bruins?

Thank god they missed so big!

I love those draft floor videos.

"There's no way Brock Boeser is dropping to us...there are like 13 more picks..."

'Why is no one taking Brock Boeser!?'

I also remember literally laughing out loud when Barzal made it past those three picks.

Sheer joy (I like the Isles. loathe the Bs) - and saw enough WHL games to wonder wtf had just happened....

One of the guys in a fantasy league at the time was worried - he had traded up to take Barzal in the top 10 - and then was second guessing wonderying why he'd dropped to 16....yeah - don't worry about that.

That 2015 class will be compared to the 03 class. Just elite players picked by a lot of teams.
