Not sure why the mental gymnastics to try and call this a clean hit.

Charge as per distance travelled and force of the hit combined with zero attempt to play the puck.

Do you honestly think he skated 200’ intending to hit Evans?

"Charging"

And if it's vicious (it was) it certainly can be followed up on.

I've followed hockey for almost 50 years and that was one of the most egregious examples of a charge that I have ever seen.

No, he went 190’ chasing the puck, the hit happened last second as a way of preventing a goal.

Id bet a year of sobriety that if it was Marchand that was hit the majority would be siding with me.

I don’t really understand what difference that makes. It’s still a charge. He skated from his end of the rink and ran straight through the guy. It’s a charge, last second decision or not.

Does egregious mean good or bad?
Something that is egregious stands out, but not in a good way — it means "really bad or offensive."

So, really bad example of charging? I agree.

He did not skate 200’ to make a hit, every hit every the hitee skated to make the hit, what was he supposed to do, not chase Evans?

Considering he made no play on the puck whatsoever, yes.

The hit was the play, poking the puck when you’re full speed towards your own net will most likely result in an own goal.

Distance travelled AND force, that is what you are not comprehending.

If it was a clean hit they why did the refs give him a 5 minute major penalty for charging?

Charging by its very definition means it was NOT a clean hit. That’s why it’s a penalty. A clean hit would not have garnered a 5 minute major charging penalty.

Sometimes I need to take a break from this forum in order to get my IQ level back to normal standards.

A typcial charging call is when you continue to take strides right up until you are a stick length away from the hit.

the HIT itself was okay. Its the SPEED that wasnt. The devestation from the speed caused an injury. If that was slower there would have not been an injury. SPEED is the issue.

Yea i get it, if that happened to one of our players I would be all up in arms.

A clean hit in the context of how it was delivered without factoring the speed.

The speed is what made it dangerous.

Also was Aaron Rome’s suspension justifiable? Or was it a reactionary suspension?

Hey how about Liljgren on Motte?? Dirty?

Wave the stick towards the near boards and can still hit without unnecessary and excessive force. That would negate the distance travelled portion if he had not gone in full force like he did.

Right call and a rightful incoming suspension.

So what’s your prediction on suspension, I predicted no suspension, I can see one but only to calm stuff down next game. If it’s 2 or more then I’ll freely admit I’m wrong. If it’s 1 or less will you admit I’m right?
