Toffoli just keeps raisin’ his market value, doesn’t he? 
 

This time we knew what we had before it was gone. Benning is no communicator, cap manager, deal maker or negotiator -  if he couldn’t see the obvious importance of retaining this player. 
 

Benning’s over-all conduct in last year’s maneuverings may even deter certain players from returning, or some future free agents from entering this very confusing fray.

Benning is actually lucky Aqua wants to stop the spending a bit. Otherwise he would have been fired the minute the season ended like he should have been.

 

Benning had the cap to sign Toffoli. He just decided Virtanen and Holtby were better use of the cap. And was too busy chasing OEL and his anchor contract.

Toffoli signed before Virtanen. Tired narrative is tired.
