It's pretty clear that Podkolzin has been used as a yoyo throughout his time in Russia. Maybe this was a way to discourage players from heading over to the NHL. It's not working though.

Reid was saying yesterday that he's had a few of those "18 year old" moments throughout the tournament.

 

Still, I prefer the approach that Gallant has taken with him....don't go all Viktor Tikhonov on him every time he makes a mistake. You don't want to kill his confidence. Stech is there to provide cover.

Pretty even game so far...they got into a bit of penalty trouble in the first, which is why they were down by a goal.

 

The zebras evened things up a bit in the 2nd and so did the Canadians.

 

Canada started the third strong, but the Finns are pushing back now.

Based on what you described, it looks like what we would see from a typical Canucks game.
