Popular Post Provost
Dhaliwal reporting that Muller’s name has come up as an assistant. That would be a good thing. Edited June 5, 2021 by Provost 2 2 1

Boudrias
1350 NHL games as a player. 12 years an assistant coach, 4 years a head coach. Stints in Carolina, St. Louis but primarily in Montreal. Lots of variables in any situation but Kirk still has lots to prove. It must be his decision to leave Montreal but I question the rumours as Montreal is still playing. I doubt JB tampers. 1

Their power play was horrible under Muller and didn’t improve until March when Alex Burrows took over. Perhaps we should consider bringing Burrows back as an Assistant Coach instead. 3 3 1

Its a very good idea, imo anyway, to bring in more experience on our bench. I'm thrilled for Burr but he's only been an assistant NHL coach for a few games, its not really possible to compare Burr vs Muller, and not sure how useful that is. I'd like both.

Popular Post King Heffy
Burrows runs a similar system to Brown, which clearly doesn't work here; he is also doing well in Montreal and unlikely to want to leave. Muller's got a ton of experience and wouldn't have gotten the opportunity as a head coach if he wasn't a damn good assistant. Brown and Baumgartner were huge problems for us last year; I am hopeful that this shows that management is going to force Green to hire actual coaches to assist him instead of those clowns. 3 4 1

Travis Green: See where it says here in my contract that I get to hire whomever I want as my assistant coaches? Jim Benning: See where it says here in my contract that I get to fire the head coach. 8

I also like the idea of Green having someone on the bench who's not a pushover or yes man, and is maybe a bit of competition for him since Muller would make a good interim coach if need be. Not that I want to see any animosity, just new/more experienced voices back there that can push the team to be better. 4 1

ilduce39
Muller sounds like a great fit... and swapping out Brown/Baumer hopefully puts enough distance from last year that this upcoming season will feel fresh.

I have no doubt that Burr will be a coach for the Canucks; perhaps even a head coach, but the reality is that he is a hometown boy and the Habs always have been (and will be) his favoured team. This is actually great for the Nucks, as he will be well-trained with tons of experience when he finally moves on from Montreal to Vancouver. 86Viking
Muller, wouldn't be my 1st choice but anyone is better than Bumgartner or Brown. Also, if they brought someone in like him coach Green has a replacement right beside him if the season starts $&!#ty like this year...difference is, there will be fans booing and calling for someone to get fired and the owner can't hide behind twitter when there are thousands voicing their displeasure

He ran back to Montreal pretty quick, doubt he comes here when they only hire french speaking coaches...that limits your choices
