It sounds like Baumgartner is still in charge of the defense and the PK, King will be in charge of the forwards and PP, and Shaw will be more of a big picture planning resource for Green.

I hope he is more than that. Baumgartner and King do not inspire confidence in me tbh.

you're worried about the tail wagging the dog. Shaw can help Green re-set the teams strategy, I'm sure Baumer is capable of carrying out a practice.

thank you demko for speaking up about clark, without your vocal support he would not be back

I don't think you are capable of actually creating a thought on your own. WOS

Yes, the video coach tells Green to take a look if he wants to challenge or not.

Main job though is to filter footage for pre game and post-game meetings as well a videos for the coaching staff to coach players.

AKA a fancy title for a video editor that knows some hockey.

Isn't the video coaches main job compiling video on both the Canucks and their opponents in order to work on problem areas, and increased skills, as well as prepare for other teams?

I don't think either of you know what you're talking about. ^_^

Looks like Broccoli Rob from Here Comes Treble

other than being a middle aged white man with glasses and similar hair colour I don't see much resemblance to stephen colbert, personally.

Of course you wouldn't see an issue with it...you're just like him. Same s***, different day! Read through the multiple comments from Drance re: this / other Canuck topics lately. Passive aggressive negative shots at the team and back handed complements. Plus, just being straight up wrong about stuff!

Why would anyone have an issue with it? He cited some stats and said another team would likely hire Brown.

Saying a guy w ho has been continuously employed on an NHL bench since 1996 is likely to get a job is hardly slagging on the team. You just want to view it that way.

You are pretty obsessed with me bud. Its not healthy. Thought you were putting me on ignore?

Read his other posts!!! Is negative a lot & contradicts himself / is wrong constantly!! Funny how most others are seeing it and you're not, but that's nothing new.

Or, you can stop with your constant negative / hateful agenda re: this team!

I’m glad you don’t count me as one of the negative nancies.

I like to think of myself as more of a balanced bertha or a neutral norma. ;)

Well at least you're not a panicky Pollyanna. They're the worst!

Drance is a self proclaimed Leaf Lover.  He hates the Canucks, as do the vast majority of Leaf fans, and has the ability (and talents) to voice his hatred publicly.  He’s a huge analytics guy, so he loves him some Dubas, and Chayka.

Yeah, if they kept him as a coach, Drance would have have said he's no good, the pp was bad and that the Canucks didn't make the needed changes in that dept. But, the Canucks let him go and add two good coaches...all of a sudden he's this great coach that will get scooped up in a second. Which is it? Drance contradicts himself constantly and is wrong about info re: the team a lot to. It's ridiculous reading / hearing his stuff.

There are currently 4 head coaching vacancies right now.

- Seattle

- Columbus

- Rangers

- Arizona

I'd be curious what happens to Gallant. Because the only team that has interviewed him is New York.

Foreverblueshirts.com said the interview went well. But New York has 3-4 other candidates to interview.

But that was back on May 15th.

Doesn't look like anyone is tripping over themselves to hire Gallant.

seatle will forsure be pushing for gallant esp what he did in the worlds recently and what he did with LV 1st year

I think drance is trash, but you think maybe he's just trying not to kick a guy while he's down and putting out some positive thoughts into the cosmos about brown, hoping he lands on his feet somewhere?

I never understood the canuck fan mindset of turning coaches, players and executives on your own team into perceived enemies, villifying them and hoping for their failure.

I think, at least based on what I took from Shaw's interview, is that BumG and King will be under him. He will be Green's only assistant or associate, and all other coaches outside of Clark will answer to both Shaw and Green. It sounded as though Shaw has very specific systems that he'd like the defense to utilize, and envisioned how it would impact the players. BumG will be mainly the PK, and implementing Shaw's more responsible defensive structures. Essentially Shaw was hired because of his track record with team defense, so going forward, it'll be his to mold, including how BroomGuarder coaches.

Exactly. He'll be the Riker to Green's Picard ;)
