[Proposal] Dante Fabbro

Dante Fabbro was benched for all of Nashville’s postseason games this year. With rumours going around that they would like to extend Ekholm could a deal be made to bring Fabbro back home to BC?

 

 

To Vancouver: Dante Fabbro

 

To Nashville: Olli Joulevi + 3rd round pick

 

Dante Fabbro has much more NHL experience then Olli Joulevi so the Canucks would have to sweeten the deal with a prospect or pick.

Poile and Hynes still see Fabbro as a key part of their future - it really doesn't sound like he is available.  Last time they protected 4 Ds.  They are expected to do the same this time around - Vingan even wonders if they won't protect 5.

  Fabbro is a soft player, who their management says struggles with skating.  No thanks.

Or they know Dante as good value and won't bash him and trade him for peanuts.

Dante Fabbro is the “Anna Kournikova” of hockey.  Looks good on paper and should be a great asset in theory, but reality says otherwise.    
 

As far as Juolevi goes, my gut says is that he’s going to be a solid late bloomer and will eventually blow away the world once he comes out with his blue steel. #DerekZoolander

We already have Hughes, Rathbone and Schmidt.  We don't need Dante Fabbro.  We need guys like Erik Cernak, Jamie Olesiak and Shea Weber.

Let's use some reason here.  Reputation aside, they benched Fabbro for the likes of Harpur (sizeable defensive defenseman), Will Carrier (who?), Gudbranson (really), and Matt Benning (do I smell some nephew-uncle collusion to lower Fabbro's value?).  If that's the case, as much as he could've been productive in the regular season, if he's not a playoff performer then I don't want him when it's at the cost of Juolevi AND a 3rd.  Why should Vancouver be the one to add?  At least Olli is solid enough, and at this point could still become about as good of a safe defender with mobility.
