His numbers are on decline. What’s worse is his impact on his D partner.
If what you’re saying is the case, then EDM just wore down the contract expectations of a few upcoming FAs.

No doubt about that, but to his “defence” Chicago sucked… big time. He has declined, no doubt, but I’d also say he’s a bit of a product of his environment as well. He will have better support and a lesser relied upon role in Edmonton. He wont be as heavily leaned on in all situations because Edmonton does have a little bit more support on the backend than Chicago does. By no means do I think Keith is going to dominate like his old days, but I think he will have some added value to their roster. Their only FA concerns are Nurse really…McDavid, Draisaitl and the Nuge, they are locked up for another 4+ Years. Plus Edmonton is going to lose someone in the ED, perhaps it will be a dman, maybe they work out a deal with Seattle and Keith gets taken and they keep someone else on their roster who is part of the foreseeable future. Idk, either way it goes Canucks will make him look like a pylon.

Well that prospect didn’t make the trade any better.

May have even made it worse somehow…

Seems like it did make it worse because it took away a contract spot from the Oilers and filled it with a D grade prospect.

Oilers would have done better getting an unsigned prospect at least.

Edmonton and Chicago are trolling the Canucks with Soderlund... did you know these are the trades he has been involved with:

  • 2017-Mar-01 Draft pick rights traded from San Jose Sharks with Nikolay Goldobin to Vancouver Canucks for Jannik Hansen
  • 2017-Jun-24 Draft pick rights traded from Vancouver Canucks to Chicago Blackhawks for round 5 pick in the 2017 draft (Kristoffer Gunnarsson) and round 6 pick in the 2017 draft (Petrus Palmu)
Get outta here!

There's a better chance of Mike Millbury getting hired and winning the Jim Gregory award than of the Soilers meeting those conditions.

Haha true, but to still provide that as a possibility? The whole point is to make the playoffs and see what can be achieved. If EDM makes through multiple rounds it will not be just because of Dooooshbag Keith.

So effectively, either Holland could be handing over a second round pick based on the entire teams contribution to success or accepting conditions on a draft pick because he feels the team isn’t even close to contending.

Either way, it appears he’s off his meds.

i am gonna laugh so hard if he becomes the missing piece for there cup drive and actually win it lol, all the haters on this forum are funny, hes a good player even now, and all hes gonna do is help the oilers

Except they’re losing Barrie and possibly Larsson, and Klefbom long term.

There’s absolutely no way an already poor D core got better today.

Right? And if they can’t replace or improve upon those losses on D, and should there be any significant injuries, then that means Keith moves up the lineup. With the conditional control mechanism that CHI has on his icetime/performance, it could be very likely that they just earned a 2nd rounder out of the deal as well.

Oops - should they make the playoffs and actually go deep.
To me, just unnecessary when CHI was already in a predicament.
