He’s a fourth-line center — and occasional top-six winger — who is among the team’s best at killing penalties and shutting down top opponents with his speed and smarts. He’s a former first-round pick who has become a reliable everyday player in Dallas, not with his offense but with his responsible defense". Looks like we found our C for the penalty kill. Will take a load off of BO as well for defensive matchups. 5 2 9 2 1

Only the Canucks could trade away more picks than they acquire during a rebuild. part of me is glad they did something but if your relying on this guy as your 3rd line center, probly going to be disappointed. Boyd is soft and easy to play against. This guy is hard to play against. Very different players. But, yes, he’s not going to be hopping over the boards fir D zone draws.

Quiet as a church mouse i see! Also, can't believe some are complaining about this.....like every player we trade for / every player on the team needs to be a allstar / superstar or else they are s*** or useless. Zero understanding of hockey! …or some folks actually understand that our roster is bad enough that we need to add difference makers? Tinkering around the bottom of the roster is fine and always needs to be done. Not exactly very aggressive or likely to move the needle on wins and losses. We are still in wait and see mode to see if we end up better or worse from last season’s roster.

This trade as a stand alone is basic at best. We don't know the integrated plan so we come on here to gossip and bash eacother hence the fun! Honestly the franchise is at a point where a younger, healthier sutter (on a decent contract) would make a huge difference. Also, it takes two to tangle and deals need to make sense / be fair. No point in making a deal just to make a deal. Some will never be happy! Doesn't make a deal because nothing made sense / came up with a team = Benning is useless. Makes a deal to make a deal = Benning doesn't know what he's doing & f'd up the trade. Lose lose for him around here!! P.S. i was referring to a holes attacking him for trades that hadn't even happened. Reading comprehension 101!
