[Trade] Lightning trade Barclay Goodrow to Rangers for 2022 7th-round pick

Right, Bruce Garrioch.  Because trading a $925K AAV pending UFA is the way to dump "bad" contracts.  Should call this deal for what it is...getting something for a player they are most likely going to lose for nothing.  Some of these hockey scribes are simply moronic. 

 

Hoping Goodrow doesn't sign with the Rangers and goes to UFA and the Canucks are able to land him for $1.5M cap hit.

At $925k, I don't see Goodrow as a "bad contract", I see him as someone the Bolts know they can't re-sign, so they got a late round pick for his rights.

 

The Rags obviously feel they have a shot at signing him and it was worth a 7th rounder to get first dibs.

 

However, I agree with @Coconuts....after the postseason he had, he'd be crazy not to test the UFA market.

Who says the tweet is about Goodrow? Could easily be referring to Johnson, or any contracts that aren't that bad but they can't afford.
