Tony O...the originator of the butterfly style that nearly all goalies have adopted today.  He would be by no. 1 pick...next would be the Bhulin Wall.

That would be Glen Hall ... not to long before that if you dropped down in one of Eddie Shores teams, he's literally tie a rope to you hung from the rafters to "drive that BS tendency right out of you" ... Espo was a great goalie though.   Barrasso should probably be in the HHOF as well as getting the most second place votes.   Backbone of PIT cup runs with Mario, and at 18 straight out of high school hockey won a Vezina.

Third place is much tougher, but has to go to Richter.   Won a cup in 94, and was the main reason the US won their first Canada cup with a loaded team against an even more loaded Canadian team in 96.   For awhile Richter was one of the better goalies out there, and that's with Roy, Broduer, Belfour around and Hasek gaining traction.

Fourth i think both Moog and Rinne would be good picks.   Moog won cups, and was considered very good bad then.   Some even consider his career HHOF worthy.    Rinne stats are for sure better - but remember OT games and wins would be ties back then - make any OT and SO win and OTL or SO loss a tie and that is comparing apples to apples.  Call it a tie.

You're right...how could I have forgotten the greatest of Glen Hall?  Thanks for reminding me.  Nice choices for the great goalies that wore #35, @IBatch.

Kay Whitmore and Troy Gamble!:metal:

Whitmore was serviceable enough ... wasn't he the one Glen Anderson bumped and made Gino go absolutely ballistic?   Remember watching that game live and laughed when Glen Anderson was skating backwards and barely trying while Gino was chasing him around near the end.   Wonder what Glen was saying ...
