Kraken Canucks [Proposal]

Recommended Posts

With the lack of centres and top 6 power the Kraken have at the moment and with them signing good Dmen, we may have an opportunity to save cap and improve our D.

With Poldkozin potentially able to step in to our top 6 , can we flip Miller for Larsson - it adds more strength to our D that looks weak since Edler/ Hamonic have departed.

In the End

Seattle acquires Miller for 2 yrs left at 5.25 Million

Canucks acquire a dman in Larsson for 4 years that can slot into our 2nd pairing, hit, play 20 minutes a game for 4 Million

You really think, in a million years, that Seattle is going to trade a guy that they just signed on their defense as a UFA?

Miller>Larsson. We don't have enough top 9 depth to lose Miller, even with Podz coming in.

We can go for a guy like Hakanpaa for a lot less and bring in some size too.

No chance they signed Larsson only to trade him right away. They got a great cap hit and term for Larsson. Its a bad look for them to sign a guy to a good ufa contract only to turn around and trade him.

You are probably right, however I just have a feeling Jimbo has some sort of deal worked out with the Karken and I wouldn't discount a Larsson trade to the Canucks.

This trade is sucky. Miller is a beauty and it doesn’t make sense to subtract from

one area to add to another. Without Miller our forward group sucks and our defence only get a little bit better. That proposal sucks I’m sorry

Hate to admit it but you are 100% correct here.

Larsson could have easily got more money and term had he waited until free agnecy officially opened up to sign but went with Seattle for a reason. Partially due to a favorable tax structure but I think the other reason being he was looking to avoid the microscope he was in in Edmonton after the Hall trade. Vancouver could be hard on the guy too and he probably knew that.
