Eriksson (...maybe?) Virtanen (...? 10 foot pole? Arizona might not want that given the draft thing...) Schmidt (?) 1Rd almost assuredly One of the "B" prospects? I dunno. I'm terrified but also... not. I wonder if it's a deal hinging on the draft itself; IE if Jim's got a player he WANTS but is unlikely to fall to 9 but does, then it falls out. Otherwise he pulls the trigger. It's all about that cap though. The 'deck is cleared' next year if he does nothing, but this is... something. I think OEL has more to give, quite honestly, but his cap hit sucks. Everyone will know this to be true. Garland is arguably their best roster player though, on a team like AZ that had trouble scoring. He's a freaking playdriver. The guy is only 25 and he's under the radar in terms of performance. I'm not saying the OEL thing is great, but Garland is freaking amazing. He's gonna make a lot of people excited. We're probably just sending expiring contracts to the coyotes so they can get out of that OEL contract. I'd be shocked if the 9OA is involved.
