Yes, but likely that’s too big of a step from where he was playing.  Hoping he goes to the Q, because he will dominate that league.

He's too good for the q. That won't teach him the defensive side of the game or playing against men to fast track his development. The q is the worst league for development. He needs to come to Abby/ sent to ECHL (if there is one) or the khl.

I'm in agreement with this. Considering he already has a man's body, it really doesn't make a lot of sense for him to be playing with boys at this point. I'd much rather see him in Abbotsford next year.

is he ready for the AHL tho? I'd be worried about rushing him into that. Personally I'd like to see him percolate in the KHL for a couple of years like Podz.

Looks like a very high ceiling if he can keep developing properly.

Very good pick.

I'd leave him in Russia for 2 seasons. Learn to play all facets of the game in his home country.  Then bring him over to the AHL.

Bring him along sliwly. Let him develop slowly and ripen properly.

Could have a very good player in 3 or 4 yrs.

Looks like he might be coming to NA this year

Pretty cool

Still think the AHL is the way to go.

Having him close to the Canucks organization and the resources they have could be invaluable.

Could be.  How many years would he have to play in the Q if he does start there?  1 or 2?

Pretty sure since he was drafted out of Europe he could technically play 1 year there and still go to the AHL at 19.

I would skip the Q though, his game is already likely too refined for junior and he’s already got pro size.

Much more valuable to have him training with pros and working out in pro facilities.

I’d scooter out to Abby to watch this kid play.  Very exciting talent, and, like you point out, in a big body.  We were lucky he made it to #41.

Yep would definitely be a draw for fans.

And honestly having Canucks brass watching over him constantly may actually keep him more honest.

Who know what kind of shenanigans he could get up to as an 18 year old in Quebec…
